General strategy question (is this the right thread?):

My aim is to have decent d6/7, m8/9, f6/7 and non playing d8, m11, f8 with late byes. That way can loophole up a storm.

I'm prioritising this over having stronger d6, m8, f6 but weaker d7, m9 and f7.

Is this a good strategy from experience?

I'm talking purely about league finals here, not overall and not regular season.
Sounds good to me, that's what I am hoping to do. Would be good if the non-playing donuts have DPP too, to allow more loopholing options

I've played lots of DT, but I wasnt sure if the loophole strategy I outlined is ever an aim of others. Eg line up non-playing rookies with late byes (Geelong and Essendon being the best options this year) to hopefully get quality loopholes on all lines.

Thanks for the responses by the way.

The loophole idea is quite good. I haven't used it because I go for overall, but it'd be a sneaky way to potentially pull out an extra 20-30 points here and there which add up. :thumbsu:

??? That exactly why you use loopholes.
I thought that SCE people were supposed to be all over these little loopholes and various other forms of esoteric SC knowledge that is out of the grasp of us peasants? Perhaps they're just in it for the long bubble bath and eiffel towering sessions.

Setting up your team specifically to take advantage of the loopholes at the end of the year is what I meant by "the loophole idea", not the actual concept of loopholes. I go for overall rather than leagues (no cash leagues, no mates leagues, so no real drive there) and IMO the best way to do that is to is with the best bench cover I can get to handle those one or two week injuries or suspensions. A team can afford non-playing bench cover a lot easier when they're only targeting a four week span of games.

The bubble bath is pretty ****ing awesome.

I'm hearing ya. Still great when a shit scoring rookie gets dropped and you can loophole between the other two rookies for the line early in the piece.
These late bye rounds have made it a lot harder for looping and rookie upgrades.

I think if you can start with a solid side with everyone playing, then make some fattened cow to rookie trades just before the byes then loophole your arse off in the second half of the year it's not a bad way to go about it. Nail your premos in your starting side and you would be laughing.

Probably been asked a few times, but how does C/VC loophole work in bye rounds?

Can I just use a non-playing player as C for the first loophole, then if VC sucks change it to a new C before they play?

Yes
Any Non-playing player can be used up until the final game for loophole purposes
