Happy with Murphy and Gibbs if it's C and VC respectively. I know we've debated the merits of each ad nauseum, but to me they are both the obvious choices for now. Not happy with a 7 man group personally. Just think it's too many. Don't have a problem with those named, but don't see the need for Walker and Simmo to be part of it.
I'll take that post with a grain of salt though. Thanks for taking the time to sign up and post if it's true, but it's hard to take 1st time posters on their word 100%.

We had Malthouse calling out Cripps as the captain-in-waiting and as obvious as it may seem to be now, that could well change.
We'd want to select the best leader and not necessarily the better player and if that means Cripps doesn't become captain, then that's just fine too.

Wish they'd let Cripps concentrate on his footy - he leads by example on the field anyway. Surely that's enough for now

Anyone consider that Cripps may have asked for it?
It's not as though he'd be running the show and many of the young guys already look up to him............and if what has come through is correct, he makes for one in seven. No big deal.

I'd rather clubs leaders be selected from a poll of players and coaches.
Whether a player asks for it shouldn't be relevant imo.

Let's see what pans out first. Doesn't bother me either way but Docherty is a must.
Remember that Bontempelli is now part of The Dogs leadership group, be it right or wrong and he's a good 7 months younger than Cripps

No issue with Cripps being in the leadership group. Be good for his ongoing development.
Putting Cripps in the leadership group will either be good for him, or bad for him, or somewhere in between... pretty sure.

Not sure how old Carey was when he became captain. I think you are right that he was very young.

Confirmed. Very happy with that but somehow feel a little down for Tuohy, but I guess you can't fit them all in.
