You beat Carlton by 26 points
Hawthorn by 29
And Collingwood by 19.

Not exactly annihilation and smashing yourself..... enjoy the week and try not to be too upset that you aren't favourites:rolleyes:

Who cares who is favourite?

Both Crows and Richmond supporters may not be able to take that after such long droughts!

It's funny how they keep going on about Adelaide's 'drought.' Sure, they haven't played in a GF since 1998, but they won in 1998, and many teams that've played in a GF since have longer premiership droughts. Melbourne 1964, St Kilda 1966, of course Richmond in 1980, Carlton in 1995. North in 99 and Essendon in 00 is just slightly shorter. Even Brisbane in 2003 and Port in 2004 is now 13-14 years ago, vs 19.

Although I will say West Coast in 2006 sure felt like a long time coming. I was only 8 in 1994 and it seems a small lifetime between age 8 and 20. I suppose clubs like West Coast and Adelaide just expect regular success and to have a good tilt at it at least once a decade.

I'll take your word for it mate. Hopefully it's not wet anyway. All the best.
Cheers.

Obviously those sides weren't exactly top 4 contenders this year (except maybe Port), but 100 point and 84 point wins in the wet are still pretty decent.

I can't remember the last time we've managed to beat Sydney by more than a couple of goals, no matter the conditions.

I agree 19 years isn't as disastrous compared to that of some clubs since winning one. I think it feels worse because we have had a couple periods where we really should have at least made the big dance for a crack once. It's more the result of falling short of that and after 19 years of it you start realising the importance of taking them opportunities and don't take it for granted as just going to happen.

Yeah I get that, the many prelim loses would hurt. The Eagles never really got that close between 1995 and 2004, and during the dark days of the early 00s a grand final looked distant.

The Crows have lost 4 prelims in that time though. So close, but so far many times.

Heart says Richmond and head says Adelaide.
I think Adelaide have been the team most likely all season.
Richmond CAN win, of course but will need four quarters of ridiculous pressure and we must take our chances.
One thing I know for sure, 16 teams CAN'T win the flag this season.
Confident that both teams will "bring it" and that first quarter will be fierce.
May the best team on the day prevail... God, I hope it's Richmond.

yeah, 2 decades doesn't qualify as a drought for me.
needs to be closer to 3 or 4.

In two decades we've had Brisbane, Geelong, Hawks, Cats, Dons, North, Crows, Port, Dogs, Pies.
thats more than half the comp.
Saints, Tigers & Dees are the only ones experiencing a true drought.
If you had a mobile phone during your last premiership, its not a drought.

i can feel your nerves

you are going to get more nervous throughout the week, all the way up until the game (at which point it reaches its worst point)

At least in 2000 we knew we were gonna win

godspeed.

Like I knew we were going to win in 1967, 1969, 1973, 1974. 1980. :thumbsu:
