If it was pick 13-15 melb pick 14-16 melb picks 17 & 19 for Gibbs and Izak Rankine that would be a win. Seeing 3 of the picks are in a weaker draft.

I rate Rankine highly but surely we can get more out of those picks than that. I think Rankine has a high chance of being top three in the draft next year and Carlton should be off the bottom of the ladder, so I'm not sure we could get him anyway. We would still end up with a high quality player (maybe Rozee or Lukosius) but Rankine would be out of our grasp.

Out of left field, what about a swap with the power..lever for Robbie Gray!! - fills their need for a topline defender and obviously would fulfil our midfield needs. Imagine how good he would be in a top team like the crows
That's not left field.......it's outer Universe..

Remove Gibbs and Carlton would struggle even more. No support for Cripps left. High chance they finish bottom 3 again.

Can we somehow turn lever into rankine?
Only if we trade him for carltons 2018 1st rounder and they have a poor year

Even if we miss rankine we get Lukoscious , Walsh or Rozee

I know we are in a window but if we could develop Doedee as an interceptor and get a once in a generation gun in 2018 draft I wouldn't be too upset

But would hate to see a Lever inspired Carlton climb up the ladder and ruin our pick - it's not guaranteed when you trade for a future pick as who knows what can happen

What makes you say this? Interested to hear what makes you think he'd be absolutely valuable to us
A big mature body, contested ball winner, high tackling midfielder who is currently 4th best for average number of clearances per game.

I don't think we need Gibbs and I think Dusty would cost too much (and is unlikely to come). Not sure we absolutely need him, but out of the three, I think he's the one to go for.

And yes I am claiming M Crouch is better than Sloane. Sloane has been exposed this year by not being able to break a tag and get himself involved in other ways. He needs to do more. This is not saying he is crap just he's been taken down a rung and until he can shake a tag will remain there.

So your saying a midfielder who has struggled with a tag (and remember you need to be seriously good for a tag to happen), is better than one who has never experienced it in his life?

I don't think Matty is far off dethroning him though mind you, but I want another season at a similar level to this before I make that call.

Really hopeful we don't lose Lever and Cameron and end up with Rockliff and some picks in 2017 draft

I want either an early pick like top 6 this draft or picks in 1st round of 2018 draft

I want a gun mid with a hybrid mid game that can win it inside but penetrate by foot
and run - not Rockliff

Walsh is a Falcon...buyer beware...:)

Better draft his best mate at the Falcons too even if he's ordinary...

Blues could get him in the PSD for nothing

Any one heard the rumour on gaff to Carlton for McGovern, we get Gibbs, draft picks involved too?

If we had an extra first round pick or two in 2018, there must be some chance of getting the club finishing bottom or bottom two to trade their first round for two or three first rounds if they're rebuilding their list?

Reckon we should try to work our way into a top 1 or 2 draft pick next year given we hardly ever get the chance to ... with the way things are looking like with Lever/CC, we might just get a chance next year.

On the coin he's allegedly being offered elsewhere? They would have to agree to his salary wants?

With top shelf young defenders Marchbank, Weitering and Macreadie already on their list would they be that keen??
Jeff said trading him for Carltons 2018 first rounder, in that scenario they would a) want him and b) prepared to pay him but c) unfortunately they wouldn't need to trade for him so it makes that trade scenario highly unlikely.
