Funny how Mr Gui wasn't at the announcement today.

He's got his cattle farm. Shits no longer be given.

Who do you think is standing next to Keith Thomas?

Gold Coast will be the big winners from this. I was recently on the Gold Coast and I'm pretty sure that mythical "imagine if we just had 1% of the population interested and we'd be rich forever" were all staying at the same hotel as I was.

Tourism links are obvious and already have a major Chinese sponsor, the colours are just a bonus.

Travis Auld said in his interview on 5AA that there is an agreement between both clubs and that the AFL doesn't get involved in that. You think he's talking out of his butt?

It's all a setup, just like when Eddie McGuire makes a song and dance about us wearing the prison bars in heritage round - which we've always managed to do.

You know we control the match day setup right? That at the ground it's considered our home game? No matter what the AFL says in the fixture about a Gold Coast home game, it will be Port Adelaide membership tents, the Game Day village, Port Adelaide branding, Port Adelaide getting all the revenue from advertising, NTUA etc.

We also control messaging in the Chinese broadcast since we are the ones who signed the initial contract with CCTV. Everything in China is about promoting Port Adelaide. Why do you think Sally Zou from AusGold decided to sponsor us after seeing a game broadcast in China?

So I wouldn't worry about us being 'played'.

I think you are taking Trevor's comments a bit too far. He didn't want to get involved and said there was an agreement between the clubs, he didn't say what that was. You say there was an agreement for the Gold Coast to wear white, they say there is no such agreement. For all we know Trevor could be talking about the agreement to cover the rest of the games rights.

Gold Coast are going to looking like complete Kochies if they turn around and don't wear red. This isn't for show for them.

As for the rest of the "game day benefit", there will be about 10-13k people there, of which will be about 5k Port people, so who gives a shit about your tents.

Port will control the China broadcast? Yeah right. What I know though is the Chineese are going to see on TV one team from a place they know wearing the national colours, they don't as Kochie says "give a shit about Port, this isn't about Port".

And for the pleasure of promoting the Gold Coast you've given them $500k. Yeah you've been played.

You did notice that todays announcement wasn't "Tourism Australia sponsor Port Adelaide" didn't you?

This is not what "port gets all the advertisement money" looks like

Tourism Australia are paying for branding on both teams jumpers. Last time I checked, jumpers aren't a part of match day advertising. It's the one thing that the AFL could sell to get revenue back from the game.

And honestly, we probably wouldn't want that hideous logo on our jumper if it were up to us. Rather have our player names in mandarin. But we'll help a brother out because we're nice :D

Oh yeah. Never Tear Us Apart is going to get a run before this game. FML. This is going to be hilarious.

Damage control from the Port Power PR Bigfooty Poster

They can breathe easy now, Mr Bigshot has some spin to soothe them.

That story neglects to mention the part where after watching the Sherrins vs the Shylocks, the South Aussie crowd go "Well, that was a bit of fun... now for the real stuff - when's the AFL back on?" rarely thinking of a Chopsticks Rules game again...

I highly doubt people will base their next holiday based on a bloody sport game e.g. Brazil and Argentina play at the MCG later this year - SFA people will visit either country due to the game being here in Oz. Same principles apply to those in China.

So you think there will be no other tourism Australia advertising at the game? no panels around the boundary? or you think the tourism Australia port adelaide sponsorship has been kept quiet?

Attack needs to win the ball from midfield. Ruck contests and clearances are one way to get the ball inside 50, there are many others. Do we have a weak midfield or not? What are the aspects of our midfield that make it weak? As a defense, would you rather have Port's midfield or Adelaide's midfield in front of you controlling delivery of balls into your defensive 50?
I like to look at this obscure stat that is the win loss ratio. How does that compare?

Rucci has lost the AFC now he's losing the PPFC.

If he's not careful he might lose his all expenses paid trip to china.

2. Andrew McLeod

”I had a job of tagging Andrew McLeod. Now that’s a pretty tough assignment but at one point, as he took the ball cleanly out of the stoppage and he ran away bouncing the ball — and you’re meant to run slower when you’re bouncing the ball — but he looked back and I swear he just grinned at me. You don’t see that too often.”

“This is another fantastic endorsement of our game in Shanghai,” Mr Thomas said.

“We’re very proud to be promoting not just the AFL and Australia’s Game, but Australian tourism as well.

“Our Open to the World campaign is generating significant interest from Australian business in China.

"Our pre-game Taste of Australia festival is the perfect place to promote everything that’s great about our country and Tourism Australia is a natural fit for that event."
