Why is it inept for the AFL to send the gold coast to the China game?

Do you think the AFL didn't realise gold coast have China's national colours, or could it have been deliberate...
 Kane, the rant was aimed at Port, who are the one's complaining ?.......haven't seen the AFL complaining about Gold Coast wearing their home kit

Interesting point yesterday that Gold Coast have 13K members .......IIRC didn't the submission to the AFL Commission involving the Southport Football Club, incorporate that Southport already had a membership of 25K ?

Well those numbers transposed well didn't they .......ahhhh pokies

Your quote said AFL not Port, so perhaps you should edit your post!

I'm not a mind reader you mean Port when you say the AFL. ;)

Kane when i talk about the AFL i'm referring to the collective group of 18 clubs ......if i want to talk about the AFL commission, i'll refer the commission accordingly .....yes maybe i should have said AFL clubs ;)

Would be good to be specific as it is why people often misunderstand your posts.

thats great, im happy for you to only talks about port for as long as you want
This is the Non-Crows AFL Discussion Thread ... I know that might be a hard thing to understand, but what it means is this is the place where we talk about clubs that aren't the Crows. So, if my logic is right ... hang-on .... carry the 3 .... I before E except after C .... nearly there .... yep, it all adds up - the Power are definitely Non-Crows. In fact my equation shows them to be just about the most non-crows team in the AFL !! Who woulda thunk it?

Perhaps the colour match was the reason why GCS agreed to the game?

Is it possible no one else was interested except GCS who saw opportunities for them too

Tony Cochrane must have thought it was Christmas.

He's approached to sell a home game and play it in a key investment market in which he has experience, a market which holds previous sponsors, to promote his part of Australia which is well known to that market, in a country whose cultural heritage is steeped in his team's colours and whose symbolism values his team's mascot.

And not only that, but the opposition will be from a part of the world China doesn't even know, and they'll be kind enough to wear colours which will almost certainly put off the crowd because they'll look like the bad guys.

This is almost a no lose situation for Gold Coast.

Aw bless the little deluded fools...
The bigger concern than the guernsey is Chinese fans deciding that they're more likely to visit the Gold Coast one day than Port Adelaide and choosing a team on that basis.

er....der.... yeah....

Delusional. If Port had watched our game from the week before (surely you watch your upcoming opposition) they'd have seen West Coast belting a much more vulnerable group of players in their first game after Walsh's death. Even when the result was beyond doubt the Eagles were still going overboard in celebration, making silly faces when they scored. I found it pretty distasteful, but they copped no heat at all for it.

You guys saw a broken team the week before and thought you just needed to show up for the points.

Yeah, I guess Walsh dying had zero effect on the players at Port Adelaide. I mean, it wasn't like he had spent the entire 2014 season with them.

If you had done the same and watched your opposition, you would have seen Wines breaking down after the game against Collingwood, Hinkley talking about how he wasn't in a good way etc.

But you can live in your bubble.

1. But your crowds are down from their high in 2014 and your crowds got down to 13k when you were really shit. Youve been competitive but not good enough over the last 2 years, your crowds and memberships shouldn't have dropped.

2. So you got it wrong.

3. So you got it wrong.

4. So you got it wrong.

5. And if the other teams also improved by two kicks? Be real.

6. So you got it wrong.

7. You are full of it.

Yeah I got it wrong. So? People get things wrong all the time.

Other teams could - but the reason I say we can is because our uncontested numbers were the worst in the league, so we have more scope for improvement.

And as for seven - you just don't wanna hear it cause you know it's true.

No Geelong, that's funny

Geelong lost a big driver of their play out of defence when Enright retired. Not only that, he was their best defender period. Getting Tuohy helped with replacing their drive but their defence is weaker this season. Add to that the reduction in effectiveness of their ruck strategy with the loss of Blicavs going third man up and the loss of Bartel as a good stop gap around the ground and I can see them falling significantly, especially since they made top four on the back of four wins against Essendon and Brisbane.

It was tough for both sides.

The more profesional side won. An ethos instilled into our players by Walsh and was forgotten by your guys once he left you and haven't regained since.

To be fair our season was still live and your guys had well and truly reverted back to Primus era culture by then.

For years you lot whinged about a lack of attention, and now that you've become a club with so many off field gimmicks that draw attention, you think it's wrong that we talks about you?

Make up your mind.

This I agree with.
