Twinkletoes did you manage to get that table with the Filth yet? Just wondering if you discussed Re: Cunnington and if Tarrant was also discussed in part of that? :)
Think it would have to be Suns pick 37 at best. 4, 23 and Swallow for 2 & 37 values Swallow at pick 62. Isn't too much of a stretch if Suns really want Weller.

I would think about it next year, to move from 4 to 2, but not this year with the rider being we move from 23 to 37, points might be close but we don't need points this year.

I did video the filming of the dice on this one...should of done it in 3D instead...too tedious on removing of the dice numbers and animation of the no ;P

A GIF aint a GIF without Brad Leaning in it.

I think you have to think about it and discuss it. As it all depends on how old they are. Tazz is great but he is a rapidly aging KPP. Ok. Maybe he ages just like the rest of us but he's still almost 30. He does have obvious currency in trades. And we haven't been doing much of that lately.

The club obviously isn't doing it so as I have said there is no need to argue

But I will finally say, it's better to get something for older players. Particularly when previously ageing champions have left for nothing

I would much prefer that we keep our ageing champions and value their contribution up until they retire as one club heroes of the North Melbourne Football Club

Dockers knock back big Suns offer
Fremantle has rejected an offer from Gold Coast for young gun Lachie Weller that included three draft picks in the 20s and forward Brandon Matera, Melbourne radio station SEN reports.

The Suns' proposed trade package reportedly included picks 21, 24 and 26, along with West Australian Matera.

However, the Dockers remained steadfast in demanding a top-four pick for the talented 21-year-old, who has played 47 games and is contracted for next year.

Weller wants to return home to the Gold Coast, which is also the hometown of his girlfriend.

Freo are ****ing nuts.

What list sizes can North have. Can we have 1 less player this year but draft 1 extra player next year?

Take pick four and get our elite midfielder this year. But let's have a go at getting Schache cheap this year. Brisbane want to offload him, he's obviously shown a lot in his junior career to be drafted so high, he's only had two years and is obviously suffering from severe home sickness. Bring him back to Melbourne for our 2nd rounder, and we potentially find a 2nd key forward for the next 10 years.

i am pretty sure i will be shouted down here and to be truthfull its not really my preference however Ben Brown would be the only bloke on our list that would be worth trading. he is a gun forward with a great finals record and quite frankly he is going to be under serviced by our lack of midfield for the next few years, we could put JZ down there as a permanent FF replacement and it wouldnt kill us.

taz on the other hand is more important because of our lacj of midfield our backline in under constant pressure.

Cunners is prolly the only other one with any real currency.

I'd be happy if we took our pick four to the draft, but took a chance on Schache with our 2nd round pick. A former 1 pick from a couple years ago,
i wouldnt be wasting any picks on shackey, he will never be a gun FF regardless where he was picked, mick mcguane wrote a piece that he looked a lot better because of the modified rules in TAC that state 2 forwards have to stay at home, brisbane were duped with this bloke..

Schache is likely to have more of a chance of turning his career around than the draft pick

how can you say that with any authority, the draft pick is completely unknown.

You think there's never a chance he turns into a pretty serviceable 2nd key? Remembering that our 2nd rounder this year probably has a 40-50% chance of actually turn out to be something decent that plays 100+.

why would you, when you can elevate a rookie ? also we have at least 3-5 blokes with only next year to run on their contracts. Thompson, Waithe, Jed, Swallow, Jacobs.

iam not saying there is "never a chance" i just think given what i have read from Carey and Mcguane and what he has shown so far its improbable.

iam very sure he wouldn't be better than JZ as a 2nd fwd. JZ kicked 5 in a half whilst injured in the afl, shackey hasnt kicked 5 in a neafl or afl game in his career.

edit,
well actually he did once but the team kicked 27 against 4...
The Lions demolished ninth-placed Southport, winning 27.13 (175) to 4.1 (25).

And the former number two draft pick was at the forefront.

Schache slammed home five goals, the most for the Lions, in their big win

Another one I'd look at is Sam Collins. A couple of years ago he was rock solid, and he's only 23 years old, I think he could be a really good cheap pickup for us.

a defender that will bring virtually no value now we have VW, Nielson, marley and MCKay..
know of any midfielders we can go for???

Aren't you advocating dumping Brown for picks and replacing him with Ziebell?

This thread has almost become unwatchable.

i take it you didnt read the full quote which is suprising given your level of attention.

would you like me to re-quote it with the bit about its "not really my preference" bolded?

i was simply pointing out that brown has likely the most trade value for us if we were to totally ignore the consequences.

I fell like North are like that kid at school that no one wanted to pick to be in there team and they turn out to be one of the best . These players from other clubs that don't want to come to us for reasons unknown GAGF .. You'll regret it ..:D:rolleyes:
