Freo demanding a top 4 pick be in the deal for Weller. Assuming it means we swap with them 4 to 5 we could expect upgrades on our 2nd and 3rd round picks. Is it worth getting involved? I think picks 4 and 5 will be out of Stephenson, Cerra, Brayshaw. Freo may be super keen on one and it may not be the one we are keen on. Could be a way to squeeze some value.

I would be happy with that. It appears that the Top 3 are pretty solid, it is a toss up from 4 - 7 even though Cerra is the preferred option by a few.

Cerra is a good chance to go top 3 so you missed out on the other 3 by moving down.

I'd imagine crows fans will spin this for themselves but I'd be livid if we paid this sort of price for a player getting on 30 whose club wanted to move them on.

Shades of the Jonathan Hay trade though obviously Gibbs has some recent form.

Pick 16 would've been sufficient I'd have thought.

DAL SANTO: GOLDY STILL NO.1 AT ROOS

FORMER North Melbourne midfielder Nick Dal Santo says for as long as Todd Goldstein remains at Arden Street he will be the No. 1 ruckman.

While Dal Santo believes emerging reserve Braydon Preuss could take the next step there is "nobody better" than Goldstein when the season proper begins.

"If Goldstein is at that footy club, Goldy takes number one, Dal Santo told SEN Breakfast.

"No question, no question."

Goldstein has come under siege in recent years from Preuss and previously Dan Currie putting their hands up with blistering preseasons.

But the All-Australian ends up being Kangaroos coach Brad Scott's first option.

"Goldy has an amazing ability for the preseason to not be the best trainer, take this in the right context, but other ruckmen, Dan Currie in previous years has probably been the dominant ruckman for the whole summer," Dal Santo said.

"Bounce that ball round one (and) there is nobody better than Goldy.

"He just takes over and I know he didn't have a great year but when the footies come out he's ready to go."

i read that as no matter what the coaching staff will always play Goldy as number 1 ruckman even if he has had a poor summer
