To my mind from what I've heard there would could be a presumptive top 4 kids of:

Lukosius (clear #1 - mobile key forward)
Rankine (best small forward/mid)
King M (best traditional key forward)
Walsh (best balanced inside/outside mid)

Assuming the above order and that we don't finish last and that the Kangas do then Lukosius is off the table then I think the best fits for Suns would:

1. Rankine
2. Walsh

Ideally don't want to be drafting a M. King type who would struggle for opportunities given our key forwards and would immediately be courted to leave us to get back to Melbourne

If the WC pick was between 5-10 then the players that I would be keen on at this stage would be Rozee (bigger balanced mid with some forward craft) that you could pair up with his SA teammate or just get Ian Hill who while small is highly skilled, lighting fast and could play the small forward/pressure forward early in his career.

Also think that you could look to trade for some specialist small forwards that are not getting opportunities at other clubs (e.g. Jack Lonie at Saints)
Rankine and Rozee will be the best option but
Rankine and ian Hill are equally good. Need to draft cover for harbrow he is not getting any younger ,maybe with one of essendon or geelong second rd pick .

Rankine is easily my favourite but I know Lukosius is a better talent. I'd just love to watch Rankine play every week.

I rate Rankine higher than Lukosius but tall forward key position talent really hard to produce but Sun already got Lynch and peter Wright . My choice Rankine.

Stack is one of the most exciting players for next year’s Draft, and it is not hard to see why. In the forward line, Stack often produces moments of magic, whether it be flying for a contested mark, or weaving his way through traffic, or miraculously snapping through a goal. He first burst onto the scene with a strong carnival for WA’s U16s Academy last year, with brilliant performances against Vic Metro (17 possessions and a goal) and Vic Country (three goals), and backed it up again this year. In 11 games for Perth’s Colts team, he booted seven goals and averaged 18 possessions, five tackles and four marks, with his most notable performances coming against West Perth (20 possessions and two goals), South Fremantle (22 possessions and three goals) and Peel Thunder (21 possessions, nine inside 50s, seven tackles and four marks). While for Western Australia, he averaged 10 possessions (five contested), three marks, and three tackles, with his best games coming against Vic Metro (11 possessions – six contested – two clearances and two inside 50s) and the Allies (13 possessions – six contested – three tackles and three inside 50s). He has the arsenal to become a bonafide footballing star.

The younger cousin of Fremantle’s Stephen and Brad, Ian Hill is firming as a top five selection in next year’s AFL Draft. In four games for the WA U18s State Academy, he booted three goals and averaged 15 possessions (seven contested), four marks, three tackles and three inside 50s, with his best game coming against Vic Country (25 possessions, seven marks, five inside 50s and three rebounding 50s). He only played four games for Perth in 2017, as he had to juggle football with his school commitments at Wesley College, but he produced starring performances including against Subiaco (26 possessions, seven marks, seven inside 50s and four tackles), and East Fremantle (22 possessions, six tackles, four marks and two inside 50s) to showcase his talent. Last year he won the WA U16s MVP, All-Australian and was inducted into the AFL Academy after brilliant performances against Vic Metro (20 possessions and three goals), and Vic Country (four goals). Like his older cousins, Hill boasts explosive speed and dazzling skills, making him one of the spectacular players to watch out for in next year’s Draft

I think with Clayton gone we are trying to steer away from those skinny flanker types , we just have so many off them that have come and gone.

Fair enough , if available Rankine and Rozee will be better option . Rankine already play senior SANFL. These are just some talent information that are available in 2018 draft , just saying GWS do draft skinny flanker in Whitfield. I am not in favour of drafting man child inside mid because they are not going to replace Lyons , Swallow , Brodie , Bowes ,Hall for few year and mainly playing NEAFL.

If we get pick 2 who we draft will be the least of our problems. Im confident we will get enough wins to push out of that bottom four scenario. And drafting ian hill seems like a terrible idea he is one bloke almost garunteed to return to freo to be with his cousins.

No way Ian hill worth Pick 2 , still in Top 10 though, but Suns got Eagles first rd pick also and ian hill is training with Eagles this pre season as AFL academy player .
I believe more in team culture than go home factor , Hawthorn are not worried about Brad hill when they draft him .

I don't see us getting out of the bottom 4

The teams you have to be better than to get out of the bottom 4 would be Freo (who i think will improve this year), WCE, Collingwood, Saints. Odds are we can do better than 1 of those teams if they have a shocker but given the start to the year and the young players I see this year as one where we are competitive in most games and the kids get brought along the right away.

Maybe they should have - apparently the best culture in the comp and he still left
I don't buy the best culture in the competition , but when you win a lot, players want to stay until big money come along .If May and Lynch win 2 flag with Suns and want to move on i don't really mind .

North, brisbane, carlton and 1 of freo/wce/coll. I like our chances. West coast have lost kennedy for the first few games, collingwood look very shakey and freo are doubling down on kids.

One big body mid jacko hately , already play one senior match in SANFL and if Bailey scott Nominate GC that will be good .

Goal kicking classy mids that have some forward craft would be the optimum outcome from this years draft

Anyone that has the potential to become a Dangerfield/Cripps/Pendlebury/Martin/type yes

Rankine could hopefully be a better version of Chad Wingard
Ian Hill could be a Cyril Rioli type up forward who can play back and off a wing

Don't know if anyone clearly stands out is being as good as players you have listed but there are players like Walsh, Heatley, Rozee and Bytel offer something in terms of mids that can kick goals

Yeah-The guys I listed are generational players so I'm not expecting that but really Judd was the prototype for these players and we need to get a player that commands respect from the opposition

I'm a massive Connor Rozee fan - gives you a forward first and mid second which is sort of what we need and not the other way round

Why not get both Rozee and Rankine .

,
That would be the perfect result - would be a lethal forward line but would still need help in the mids from somewhere
If Martin and Ah chee sign extension this year , i prefer hately with one of Rankine /Rozee .

Media over hype because they are vic players .

Future Draft Watch update:

Only an OK weekend in terms of our future picks:

- WCE won which puts their 1st rd pick down the draft order
- Geelong's loss to WCE (and current injury crisis) has helped with us with a better 2nd rd pick
- Bombers loss has that 2nd rd pick looking better by the day

Only 3 games in!
We need the NBA playoffs to start, then we can check back in a couple of months.
