France have probably the best squad in the competition on paper but unfortunately the game is played on grass.
I fully expect Australia to get done but you just never know,France have a history over the years of slipping up against teams they should destroy.
Our best chances are against the other two teams,if we can give some decent performance against France it might just might give us hope for the other games.
Any way let’s hope it’s a fantastic tournament, and good luck to everyone that’s having a punt.

President Trump, in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, talked about the now-infamous meeting he had in Canada just before leaving for Singapore for his historic meeting.

Trump said he has "great friendships" with G7 leaders, but said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's comments at his press conference at the end of G7 were going to cost Trudeau "a lot of money."

"He gave out a little bit of an obnoxious thing. I actually like Justin, you know I think he's good, I like him but he shouldn't have done that. That was a mistake. That's gonna cost him a lot of money," Trump said.

Next minute...
Does this affect France, Denmark, Australia or Peru the most :p:oops:

Aus will play a 4-5-1.
Why would we divert from the 4-2-3-1 mid block we've been drilling? It's looked good so far and our goal threat is from counterattacks through Leckie. Nabbout can run the channels but I don't see him holding the ball up against two world class CBs. We'll need outlets so we don't end up defending deep all game.

It's why I'd start Irvine and basically have him sit on Kante. Has the speed and weapons to hurt Kante the other way. Jedinak would get blown away.
If that were true, surely he’d be playing in the PL. No offence to the guy but if he could play off Kante that well, he wouldn’t be in the championship.

I find that to be a bit of an ignorant comment .. Irvine could easily play in the prem league in my opinion .. just because he’s currently not doesn’t mean he’s not good enough to .

You mean like Luongo or Jedinak are?

The question that I haven't seen answered yet is, if Bert does well, why wouldn't he have been given the opportunity to continue on? Was it his stipulation to just coach for the World Cup or would he have also put his hand up for the long term gig?

Probably not the right thread for this but regardless of whether you love Arnie or not, it's very weird. We've yet to kick a ball for points under him but to me it seems like this is the type of manager that would flourish with our squad over a long period. I did like Ange but unfortunately his football philosophy and stubbornness to follow it at all times is great for club football but just doesn't work with the international game.

So what's the plan against France, park the bus (and probably lose) or go for the win (and probably lose by more)? I wonder what tactics this manager will go for, will he play each match tactically to try and qualify, eg. limit the loss to France, and then try and pull 1 W 1 D from Peru and Denmark, or will he play to try and win all 3 games, and potentially go down swinging in the group stage.

Will SBS show all the round of 16 games and subsequent games?
'' SBS’s coverage of the Round of 16 and Quarter Finals will be announced throughout the tournament ''

To my knowledge it will just be 7 of the possible 12 knockout games involving the 2nd round fixtures and quarter fnals. They're showing 26 games all up including the semi's, 3rd place and the final. 15 group games leaving 7 unfilled spots to be determined for the 2nd round and quarter finals.

So no they will be missing 7 knockout games.

Agree to disagree. If he were that good, there’d be suitors for him. Happy to be proven wrong, but I don’t believe there is any.

Correct. Jedinak is no longer PL standard and Luongo just had his first good season at QPR.

Yeah. So.. I'm not sure what you're saying when I'm saying I'd prefer Irvine to Jedinak?
