I'd almost like to see Richmond cruise into the GF with two wins and then have it all turn to shit Geelong 2008 style

If Richmond don't win the flag this year it'll be one of the all time great chokes.

• Finished on top 2 games clear of 2nd
• Knew a few weeks out that top 2 was virtually assured allowing them to manage players with niggles
• Have the shortest injury list of the top 8 sides and no key players missing. All other clubs have lengthy injury lists and/or key structural players unavailable
• Unless they lose to Hawthorn in week 1, they don't have to leave the MCG after having travelled only twice since the end of June and the last trip was a training run on the Gold Coast

You can throw a blanket over 2nd-8th as very little separates them and it's easier to make a case for why each of those clubs won't win than it is to find reasons why they will

Beating hawthorn maybe Richmonds biggest challenge given Clarkson's tactical nous. Win that and they have a prelim date with a non-vic club at the MCG or an injury depleted Collingwood

They have the weight of expectation and favouritism to contend with this year. If they can manage their way through it then fair play to them.
I would love an epic choke, obvi.

Constantly needing to change my pants every time I hear someone say Richmond are overwhelming favourites due to pissing in laughter. Second softest draw (after collingwood) all year, lost everytime they left their bedroom, beaten by West Coast comprehensively, beaten by GWS comprehensively, challenged by Geelong and challenged by a rampaging bulldogs team last weekend. They'll be challenged by the hawks next week and seriously challenged when faced with the first bit of pressure they've experienced all year in the following game.

It would be amazing if Hawthorn could cause an upset next Thursday. If we get over Collingwood I would back us in to repeat the dose against Richmond at Optus like we did earlier in the year.

As others have mentioned, the pressure is right on them. It is great for us to be in the background, and the fact their final is first.

If they trip up against Hawks (and it is a big if), they will come out breathing fire the following week and smash whoever that is, then face the big trip over to Perth.

Gee whiz who would have thought 6 months ago we would be in this position. Bring it on!

If Hawks and us can win, the potential home QF against the Tiges would be huge. Win that and we would likely face the Hawks or Pies in the GF.

Cmon Hawks, get it done.

Beating the Hawks in a GF would be joyous vindication...

Losing to that mob again would make me want to stab my eye - with the beak of a large raptor bird. Not really since that would constitute animal cruelty but you know...

Bigger than Geelong 2008? Won 21 games in the H&A with a percentage of 162%, 4 wins clear of 2nd on the ladder. Lost GF to Hawks.
Fingers crossed Hawks can knock Richmond off next week.

Very confident going into finals!! Most people including some WCE supporters doubt we will do well. We are a completely different team from previous years, last year if we were missing Gaff, JK and Darling we would not win a single game. But even with losing our best players we still finished the home and away season strong. Our new players this year Ryan, Rioli, Waterman ect have been outstanding for us. Hoping for WC to beat pies, and Hawks to beat tigers, then we destroy tigers at home. This will make the GF very winnable for us

Agree, there's a lot to be said for how they've hung tough through most games, to the end, away and at home. Definitely an improvement on last or previous seasons under Simmo.
We've lost key players every which way and still managed to bring it home or press close.
Really hoping JK+JD bring their best games and the smalls take care of the rest. (JK bit of unknown quantity at this point).

I kept wanting to see more of the 'finals mode' Eagles in last few games - hoping we will really see a switched on team against Collingwood, certainly not one that gets jumped early or looks flat and listless. Should be well rested, flu's etc gone..
If they pull off a convincing win (without NN+Gaff this time)...looking good for a GF.
Pies had some good players out before and we didn't have Ryan. So it should be a cracker game.

Whaaat?...that long range forecast changed quickly...the weather needs to get it's act together!
Checked several different long-rangers..getting variations from fine+sunny 17-24c..to..cloudy+50% rain?
Will no doubt change again...unlike 09! ;)
