On disclosed form they can have himTwo positives in getting Lobb to us-is proven he can ruck & not playing for the slime.
If the slime get him, they will have no salary cap left and we can get Cognilio on the same cash as LobbTwo positives in getting Lobb to us-is proven he can ruck & not playing for the slime.
if Lobb goes, & possibly Shiel, the Giants will keep ConiglioIf the slime get him, they will have no salary cap left and we can get Cognilio on the same cash as Lobb

Suddenly it’s 4 years?!!
First part: Conca's own agent says Freo are looking to potentially make an offer = Not a stretch to say he might leave.I am all for getting Conca, but 4 years is stretching it given his injury history. 3 years at 400k (front loaded) is about as far as I would go, it would still be significantly better than whatever Richmond could afford to offer
Oh yeah, he's completely full of shit, I should have added that.First part: Conca's own agent says Freo are looking to potentially make an offer = Not a stretch to say he might leave.
Second part: Make up a contract years number = Fresh scoopla = clicks
I think we can safely assume we're not offering 4 years.Oh yeah, he's completely full of shit, I should have added that.
Just saying that 4 years is too many as a talking point
It depends if you see them as best 22 or not, and if they are they must be a significant upgrade on what we already have to give up draft picks.Sometimes im staggered at how picky some of us are at who we draft. Its about building a team, not trying to get 22 A graders. If you look at richmond, you could argue the only A grader they have brought in is Prestia. Conca would add much needed grunt, and Lobb would add some real marking power. Next year we can try pull the trigger on some bonafide As. With a bit of luck we will make some good progression and they will want to come.
How can Conca and Lobb be best 22 in clubs up the top of the ladder but not in ours? Kersten is a bust, and I was never keen on him. Still hopes for Matera imo, been asked to play roles that don’t suit him, look at redden at WC.It depends if you see them as best 22 or not, and if they are they must be a significant upgrade on what we already have to give up draft picks.
I don't see Lobb as best 22, so I am not keen on him.
I don't want another Matera, Kersten etc who are not best 22.
I believe are depth is ok, but we need one or two experience bodies when the A Graders (Fyfe, Neale, Mundy, Hill etc) can't carry the load any more as the season goes on. For that reason Conca would be a good get, on the right contract.
If we target a forward who applied forward pressure, was quick and had kicked 20 goals for the year I would be very happy to sign him.

As Lobb can ruck and play forward and take a vice like grip mark and leap, I think he is a very big upgrade.Agree on Conca
Lobb; He is best 22 for us but its a small upgrade not necessarily worth the cost (in picks and cap space). Also, the competition for the ruck spot is Dawson Simpson at GWS...
Fair enough, I disagree he is very big upgrade on Tabs or Cox.As Lobb can ruck and play forward and take a vice like grip mark and leap, I think he is a very big upgrade.
Darcy is a better ruck than Lobb, and Lobb is only a small upgrade on Taberner and Cox, and not worth the 700k or the pick we would need to give up.How can Conca and Lobb be best 22 in clubs up the top of the ladder but not in ours? Agree with most of what you say, but I think Lobb gives us options. I would surmise we have plenty of cap to play with, so what we pay him is largely irrelevant if its front loaded.Darcy is a better ruck than Lobb, and Lobb is only a small upgrade on Taberner and Cox, and not worth the 700k or the pick we would need to give up.
Conca is one of the last picked at Richmond, I am happy to get him but do want to over pay.
As for Matera, he is to slow to play deep forward.
Not the draft picks we give up, and you won't sign him if we can't offer him a spot in our 22.Agree with most of what you say, but I think Lobb gives us options. I would surmise we have plenty of cap to play with, so what we pay him is largely irrelevant if its front loaded.
The age demographics of our rucks is pretty ordinary, especially with Jones looking below standard. Darcy and Lobb are an ok tag team for me. I would love Taberner to be able to do 2nd ruck duties, but so far he is looked poor, and he has not been available for large chunks of games. I can definitely see why the interest is there for Lobb.Much rather Tabener to Lobb....
Just cause i like him, he is loyal and on a steady upward curve.
Is Jones really below standard? Sure he's not Max Gawn, and looks as if he could do with a "no sausage roll" diet. But for a guy whose first pre-season was interrupted he wasn't totally disgraced. If he gets some continuity over the summer, surely he won't be the worst ruckman in the AFL.The age demographics of our rucks is pretty ordinary, especially with Jones looking below standard.
