Probably, considering that we passed the 27,000 mark around NYE last year and then membership sign-ons dropped significantly compared with the previous year after that. I think that if we track to around 27,000 by NYE this year and we can put in a strong JLT showing, then we might trend back upward again in time for the 2018 H&A season and crack perhaps 42-43,000 by July.

Another interesting indicator will be our financial performance for 2017. We still had about $1 million of debt last year and it will be interesting whether that figure has changed much in light of reduced membership and attendances in 2017.

Went online to renew over $2,000 worth of memberships, saw that my card payment details would be retained for future years, so did not renew.
There is no opt out box online, I now have to ring the Club to stop them retaining my financial details.
I think this is overreach by the Club, I would not give my details to anyone else to use in one years time even my beloved North.

No, I just don't want them auto-renewing, auto-charging, auto-anything. I'm happy to give them my cash every year, but I want to choose when they take my money. I want to browse through the membership options and choose the right package for the right price at the time I choose.

I understand auto-renew is good for the club, and I have no doubt it's the reason why we're +2k at this point of the season. But I think forcing people to auto-renew is not the right thing to do to members, especially for families around this time of year.

If it was an Opt-in, I'd be all for it (for people who want that convenience). It's not even an Opt-out at the moment, other than ringing the club & getting a refund.

I have been a member for more than 50 years, bought shares in the Club in the Bob Ansett reign, and put thousands of dollars into the Club over the darkest of years.

When I pay a bill with credit or debit card the details are not retained for as long as the seller chooses unless I agree to direct debit.

I do not have a smart phone, nor have any need or wish for one.

I want to pay at a time that suits my finances not the Club, and all I ask is that the online account and/or the renewal notice received by mail has an opt out box.

More Professional and Computer savvy organisations than the AFL have had their records hacked.

You really should step up, be a better man or woman (which ever) and apologise.

I would have found that post hurtful and disrespectful too if it had directed at me. You could easily be insulting my own mother with that message because she's "old school" too, and there is nothing wrong with being old school either. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about! And the supposed ''being made to auto renew'', every year i receive a renewal notice and booklet of membership packages. When i'm ready, i pick up the phone, dial the number, renew 3 memberships and in the space of 3-4 minutes it's done. No stress.
