It’s hilarious isn’t it? Their only options are to bring in spuds and bugger all injuries.

I hope like hell they bring in Rockliff. I want them to be shown how their 4 year big name recruit is going to go in future showdowns as he slows down even more.
It's that whole quantity v quality discussion we tried to have with them after trade period.

Having said that, imo Rockliff is a quality inside midfielder, but Ken has played him in a forward pocket.

Motlop needs to be motivated, so he went to the wrong SA club if he was serious about getting the best out of himself. He can cruise around on his $600K + playing his one top game per month (probably saving himself for the showdown).

Watts is better as a forward than Tengove, but they got rid of one of a few players who actually gives a shit for another soft cruiser, which is not great for culture.

Then the rest they brought was only good for making the magpies more competitive. Better off drafting youngsters.

Port are missing Impey

If Port get within 4 goals next week it will almost be a bigger indictment of them given they are coming back from 2 weeks on the road and from Perth on a hard deck. Defence is okay but midfield and forward structure is all over the shop

Rowie also said it was Karma Shuey did a hammy, what a disgraceful comment from what is supposed to be a media professional

Oh god  He really is taking his role as Port Propaganda/PR person really seriously!
On another note, someone on our board gathered a collection of quotes from Power supporters during the week about confident they were about yesterday’s game, 40+ point win, no WCE midfield, Ports defence better than our forward line blah blah blah. Was fun reading hehe :)

If Martin, Fyfe, Dangerfield and Franklin are the best 4 players in the competition (in whatever order) who's the next best?

Tough to say. There's a lot of very good midfielders and forwards floating around in that next tier but none are standouts.

Could you really separate Matt Crouch, Tom Mitchell, Adam Treloar, Dylan Shiel, Joel Selwood, Ben Brown, both Josh Kennedys, an uninjured Rory Sloane, Robbie Gray, Trent Cotchin, Nic Naitanui, etc. ?

Or, maybe the trades weren't that good to begin with.

The best player traded last year was Bryce Gibbs.

Rockliff - probably next best but Port refuse to play him in position. Can't play anywhere but inside mid
Motlop - highly, highly overrated. Rarely plays at 100%
Watts - everyone but Port knew he was a soft hack
Stringer - past his prime for some reason
Smith - decent but not a star. Not what Essendon needed
Saad - good player but he's a back pocket defender
Lever - exposed at Melbourne to not be a KPD (which we knew)
Cameron - looks good at Brisbane but inconsistent
Ablett - struggling with injury

Coniglio, Kelly and Macrae would be up there too.
