How can you lose two significant Defenders, on top of losing another two the previous year ....gain a 34 year old injury prone Ablett, and be a flag favorite for 2018

I am looking forward to Brownlow night and the grimaced face Patty has as Ablett steals his votes.

Ablett still has to get on the field consistently .....hardly played in 3 years

Hardly been motivated for three years....

I reckon he will have a very decent 2018 and probably two more years after that if Geelong are still playing Finals.

That's hard to believe

He didn't want to be at GC last year.....still won their BnF though.

I would bet his injuries will disappear this year.

Regardless of the contrived way they got him back, I am actually looking forward to seeing a midfield trio of Selwood/Danger/Ablett.

Luckily their forward and back lines aren't much chop.

Add Tredrea to that and it could be a great show.

Roo and Tredders have great on air chemistry.

I think you might be on to something.

Now, Roo and Blighty might make good listening for the higher footy intellects on this board, but let's be honest, as an on-air duo they probably wouldn't set the airwaves (ratings) on fire. I'm not sure I'd want to listen to them for too long.

However. Adding Tredders is the key. Add in a proven media performer, with credibility, someone who has a bit more spark and an eye for just enough "controversy" to keep the talkback line running / the listeners interested, without going overboard into tabloid clickbait territory.

Yes. Roo + Blight + Tredders (or maybe I don't know, Kym Dillon or whoever) could fly. Won't happen, sadly.

Yeh, but he'll probably poll nearly every time he's out there. Plus, reckon he'll be a lot more determined this year while playing for a team in contention.
That's bad for Dangers Brownlow aspirations

If that doesn't tarnish his image by the AFL public, nothing will ......there's already speculation

I don't get the hype regarding Essendon of recently, they are average. I see more in Melbourne than I do for them, the Demons will be dangerous if they can get things together, but will that actually happen?

I don't think Richmond will get the same consistency from their players, it is hard to see so many of their players in such great form again. I don't think they'll slip out of the eight though, and are still a chance of winning again.

Ablett will probably do jack shit for Geelong, he is too fragile now and won't play many games.

GWS are still overrated. They can be a lazy group, and are very average away from home.

Sydney showed some cracks during 2017, especially during round 1-6 and in the SF. I question their stability and how long they can hold on. Undecided on them.

The Bulldogs will either make the finals again as elimination finalists, or **** up completely and head further towards the bottom of the ladder.

St Kilda, Hawthorn and Collingwood have big question marks next to them. They are all a decent chance of making finals, but are also a decent chance of not doing so.

Port is on a similar page to Essendon, the hype surrounding them is questionable.

That only leaves Brisbane, Gold Coast, Carlton, North, Freo, and West Coast.
We only have to beat the Eagles to win it - should be a shoe-in.

Those were just my major thoughts, those you mentioned here probably won't be around our mark (apart from West Coast maybe). Every team has their issues, and so do we. We may struggle to recover from the GF loss. But I feel other teams around our mark have bigger on-field issues then we do.

A hot tip. Stream music or podcasts through your phone and play them through the car stereo. It's life altering and you'll wonder why it took you so long to catch on.

Love the way I can be driving up the Bruce highway QLD between Ayr and Townsville listening to the SANFL Crows streaming through my Bluetooth car stereo, not to mention the 3500 songs stored in my iPhone. :thumbsu:
