I have to say that looking at our likely best 22 I am confident in the direction our skills are heading. I also think that there has been a focus on better decision making skills in new recruits.

Old East's, Peake, Taylor, Kickett, not to mention our friends from overseas.Seb Rioli, Benny Vigona at Souths 1979 way before Kevin Sheedy even knew there was a world outside Victoria.
Makes you laugh at that shit......
Onya Sheedy, good old VFL, the creator of ...... all.

Not Peake. Not indigenous.
No, he’s not.Yes he is.
Yes he is.
Maori heritage (but this only I heard from a radio discussion when his former teammate Ken Judge was asked.).
Long way off the training thread now.
Definitely a great character - like most of the guys we drafted last year. But zero chance of a round 1 debut (imo) and will be lucky to debut this season unless we have a lot of injuries. Draftees Brayshaw, Cerra, Crowden and North would probably all be ahead of him to debut as inside mids at this stage. Given we have Fyfe, Neale, Mundy, Walters, Blakely and Stephen Hill that can play inside it's going to be hard for him. He's looked a little one sided with his kicking at training but no question he's a hard worker and knows how to win the hard ball. Expecting he'll be great in the middle at Peel and given his attitude I'm backing him in to get a debut at some stage but I'd say 2019 is more likely.Hey guys, how is Bailey Banfield going? Do you see him far off the pace for a rd 1 spot?
I know this seems like a SC question, but it’s not. I’m genuinely keen to hear how he’s going, I was really impressed by an interview I saw shortly after he got rookied - tremendous attitude and I really hope he makes it.
Yes, can report that they trained today.Sorry to go off topic, but does anyone know if there is any training on today or are they away on camp?
Story Part 1: my daughter and her friend were at Nick's Place getting chips and these two fellas walked in (definitely kept their pants on!). Longish table, they asked if they could sit there (other tables were available). Girls said fine, my daughter is having quiet palpitations, her friend is oblivious. Luke gets up to order kebabs for the both of them, the other fella stays at the table, and strikes up conversation. While Luke is at the counter, my daughter goes to get a drink - he says, no problem, I'll get it...
They chat - ask their names, give theirs, Luke and Taylin (she had no idea who poor old Taylin was). According to my daughter Luke is sooooo pretty, but Taylin is 'average'.
They ask the girls if they're locals, girls say yes, what about you guys? No, we're both from Victoria. Daughter says her sister lives in Melbourne, in Coburg. He says he used to live near Coburg. They chatted for a while longer, he tells her she's really pretty. She said they were both really nice guys, and if he had've actually asked for her number she would've given it to him, but he didn't. Maybe she didn't react enough to the 'you're pretty' comment. Who knows? But then the fella she's actually interested in messaged where to meet him and off she went.
Part 2:I whipped her with a cat'o'nine tails when she told me the story, and told her she should've stolen his phone and put her number in regardless of the other guy.
Nope, never mentioned it at all, not even the Coburg part that he used to play for them in the VFL. And she avoided the "what are you guys doing in WA?" question, because she didn't want them to tell her they played for Freo, and then she'd have to pretend she hadn't known all along, and it would have got all 'awkies'.
See Part 2 of the story.
Yes, can report that they trained today.
I can report I saved the Cockburn facility from burning down today. As I was leaving I noticed one of the welders had started a grass fire, which nobody had spotted. Due to my quick action the facility was saved, I expect a bravery award to be forthcoming any day nowGo on.....

TBH I was pretty much just chilling today, didn't take too much notice. A few of the ran a 2km trial. From memory it was Spurr and Fyfe equal first, Switkowski third, maybe Alex Pearce fourth? Kersten ran OK but Johnno, Hamling and Dixon were a long way back. Have a feeling I've missed a couple.Shit mate, give us a training report and it’s all yours.
