We will probably bounce next week to an honourable loss by a couple of goals. It is so frustrating this year with the highs and lows of our performances. We definitely need another early pick in the form of a PP, to either use or trade (I would prefer to trade and get more seasoned bodies in)
I know this year has been a nightmare with injuries and players with lack of preseasons, I know it can click pretty quickly with more experience and preseasons under your belt. But I am beginning to get worried with these mediocre performances. This year is a right off, we all get that, but if there is not significant improvements next year then I am concerned with how the club will react with regards to 'the road map' and staying the course.

Games like that emphasise that the club wont be taking Lukosius with pick 1 .
Totally smashed in the midfield for run and uncontested possessions , 24 marks inside 50 for Brisbane is incredible again emphasises the lack of run and accountability up the field .
Midfield issues need to be addressed in the off season with the best available draft assets we have .
Is Walsh fast?

Yeah because another key forward to help Charlie isn't what we need either?

I'm partial to doing a deal with the Suns for pick 3 and another later 1st for pick 1.

That gets us a midfielder and a forward.
Well we do have them in fact 3 that were sitting on the sidelines today (Mckay Kerr +Casboult )
We decided to play a ruckman forward who then got injured and a full back forward in Rowe . It was only going to end in pain when your midfield and team raises the white flag .

God I hate being a whiny ******* pissant but I am just sick of this. I am sick of being led up the garden path the last 20 years ... I was bought up expecting a win every Saturday afternoon .... but then modern football came along, we got busted for cheating and it’s been shite ever since .... 20 years of shite

And now after three long years of supposed rebuild I get to see this .... words cannot describe today.

I have been lied to, I have been cheated.

We are not only the worst club in the AFL ... we are the worse club by a mile.

Are we trying to get relocated to Tasmania?

BB harden the **** up ... sick of listening to bs excuses.

This is deplorable .... had a bloody nouf!

U have had three years and everybody .... everybody has gone past us!

You haven’t been lied to. They didn’t lie. They just don’t know what they are doing.

We have a faceless President. No idea who the CEO is. Our coach honestly just speaks dribble now.

Our recruiting is really questionable. Our medical team poor.

Unfortunately it’s a structural problem. We think we didn’t want a messiah approach but that’s what we fell in for. We let SOS so whatever he wanted with the list because we were desperate. There’s obviously been no challenge to his thinking and approach. He made us far too young. All his questionable picks and trades have actually failed. Bolton has shown nothing. His team don’t follow instructions and his young players are not developing.

It’s a total mess and I don’t see how it can change now. They don’t know how to set things up properly for success.

There are some simple things:

SOS needs to lose his right to do whatever he wants. He needs to explain himself and be accountable to the Board for his actions. There’s a very big difference between ‘empowerment’ and ‘letting go’. I fear a slingshot reaction from him out of self preservation now (ie: trade the picks for players to move up the ladder a bit and save himself.). He needs to be held accountable. What’s your plan? Why? What makes you think it will work? If he doesn’t like it he can feel free to leave.

Bolton needs to explain why his young players are not improving. What’s he going to do about it. What’s the problem.

The medical team just simply need to be replaced. Go find the best and get them.

The Pres needs to go. He gives nothing. On your way.

Overall- it’s not a case of sack everyone. It’s a case of hold them to account. Make them explain themselves. Demand clear plans. Make them tell us where they went wrong and why. What have they learnt.

Eg: SPS wasn’t improving from his 17th year to his 18th. Is that a learning? Why would you get a small slow outside vfl player from Geelong? Why do you continue to recruit injury prone players from GWS?

Sit down, be prepared to think about why YOU have stuffed up. Not why you’re so unlucky. Or why you started a rebuild. Or how young the ****ing team is. What have YOU done wrong and what are YOU doing about it?

Brendan, are you in over your head? Be honest. Do you feel lost? Do you just ‘not know’ why the team looks lost half the time? What’s your plan to getting them following a game plan? What IS the game plan?

All I want is accountability. Be thorough. Don’t pass it off and say shit like ‘we are united’. FIX IT.

Normally I’m a fairly glass-half full supporter but not today.

What disappoints me the most about a display like that is that as a young player you’re never going to get a better opportunity to cement yourself in an AFL side as you are at Carlton at the moment. It’s not like we’re a top four side that bats really deep with talent in every position.

We need those younger players to step up, but today looked like no one bar one or two looked capable.

this team is being over coached, game plan means crap when you cant keep players on the field, just bring it right back and play one on one. Bolton appears to be
Think it has a lot to do with us throwing extra numbers behind the ball against better teams.

It’s why we always stay competitive but never actually win or go on the front foot.
this is right we try ansm
unacceptable effort. Same old players letting us down with poor skill errors.
We are a rabble there is no other way to describe it. It’s clear as day that this zone that we try to implement once a month doesn’t work! We get belted every time we try to play a high press ... Melbourne, Freo, North Melbourne, Brisbane I can go on....

Like clockwork Bolts will come out and say effort is unacceptable etc etc and for the next two games we’ll play man on man and be competive and go down by a few goals. Three weeks later after the media say Carlton have played a few “competitive” games our fearsome leader will try the high zone defence again and we’ll get belted off the park.... rinse and repeat!!!!! When’s he going to realise that he doesn’t have the cattle to do this.
We don’t have the small forwards to pressure the ball carrier, our midfield is one paces and at the moment all of our half backs are injured.... I mean blind Freddy can see what’s going on in these beltings. It doesn’t help when we have so many plodders on the ground but ffs Bolts plan for what you have!!!

We are a disgrace and let’s be honest we are going to get creative with pick 1 to try and get some more midfielders with class into this team because we are miles off.

Bolts has next year to turn this around or he’s out.

Polson - see you later offers nothing .. is too small is not clean and doesn’t put enough pressure on.

Graham - out
ROwe - out
Wright - what’s happened is finished
Jones - poor disposable and brain fades kills us
JED LAMB - if there is a player in the history of the Carlton football club who is more hated by our own supporters I can’t recall... is a smart arse, and a rubbish footballer.

Marc Murphy today proved once and for all that he is not the captain of this football club from next year onwards.... diabolical leadership all day

We will kill Cripps and Charlie if we don’t turn this around and soon

all this 100% right except for the comments on murph, hes not a bull like cripps he's a small creative skilled runner, he can't change what he is becauae hes captain. In a good side he would kill it, but he decided to stick with it, so i dont thinks its fair to say he's not a good leader, but i agree next year it should and will change.

what would you like him to say, ffs?
For him to be honest Thy and not sugarcoat poor performance, he doesn't have to name and shame anybody, not that you can in this day an age for fear of the precious little darlings getting offended and having a sook.

We’re a division worse than every single AFL club confirmed now.

Will take a solid 5 years before we climb out of the bottom 4.

I am not surprised by the result today.

I think we are really lacking leadership in the football area at Carlton (off field). Who is guiding Bolton, how are we marking our coaching teams performance? How are we measuring our drafting, our preseason, our player development? How are we marking our medical team? Who is implementing strategy to move our club on field forward? It can’t all be left to SOS and Bolts.

I think Bolton is the man to coach us going forward, but what is the appropriate support for him. Who provides it? Where is the guidance? As a club Carlton took on an inexperienced head coach, he needs the mentors to develop.

Today’s performance was as much about structure and the way our coaches have our team playing. On every line they had players ahead of the ball and our guys playing loose or sagging off. It was easy pickings for them.
