Anyone think our 1st pick next year would be enough to get Martin from GC?

Yes, he's been a disappointment over his career. I would only pay a second rounder for him.

I actually think he has done OK with the team around him.Yes, he's been a disappointment over his career. I would only pay a second rounder for him.
Oh well, we got the wrong McCartin so we might as well get the wrong Martin...
At least we got the right DarraghOh well, we got the wrong McCartin so we might as well get the wrong Martin...
Why would the crows do that ?How does pick 4 for Mitch McGovern and pick 8 in return sound ?
Potentially adding Ian Hill via draft.
Trade Paddy to geelong for stale twisties.
Prob need to chuck in a future 2nd. I’m thinking a Carlisle/Gresh special
Understand - but they would have done it regardless. They would never accept the rubbish compo pick for one of the best players in the league.. Do you honestly think WC will let Gaff or Gov go for the compensation pick? Never in a million years. It will come down to a trade. List managers all have relationships and at the end of the day it gets worked out.If a club doesn’t have TPP room to fit a FA offer they can’t force a trade.
Danger announced he planned to leave but didn’t officially enter free agency. In light of the Phil Walsh tragedy Geelong decided to trade instead of trying to get Dangerfield for free.
Adelaide didn’t ever have to match or force a trade. They got Pick 9 & 27 plus Dean Gore instead of just Pick 13.
Geelong’s goodwill allowed Danger to change teams without free agency ever being enacted.

Yeah we have a knack of doing that. Throw in the wrong Phillips, the wrong Weller, though in fairness not sure there's a right Weller!Oh well, we got the wrong McCartin so we might as well get the wrong Martin...

Or a player ?
Maybe a South Australian midfielder .
I think martin, long and gresh would dominate as a trio up fwd. Fast agile tough smart. He's alright just not what people expected of someone so talented. Bit of Jack Billings about him but not even as consistent.
From a good Richmond source. Wants game time, not necessarily back in WA.What are these Bolton rumours? Should have drafted him in the first place! Couldn't have said his value has improved from the second round, is that what he'd cost?
Wonder if Tigers are working out a deal for our first with Bolton for a Lynch trade.
Out: Pick 4 + 50 something.
In: Pick 18 + 2nd + Bolton.
I wouldn't do it.
What are the rumours though?

Very different circumstances. Adelaide were already offering a similar contract to what was offered by the Cats.Understand - but they would have done it regardless. He's required player who is essential to our side and is contracted for the next two years. What do you think he’s worth? About to hit 24 & averaging 13 disp & 1.6 goals a game. On output he looks like a late first-early second.
Why would the crows do that ?
Not happy with Ben Long? What are these Bolton rumours? Should have drafted him in the first place! Couldn't have said his value has improved from the second round, is that what he'd cost?

He can absolutely win matches off his own boot and is one of the best contested marks in the league.
I presume he even the talk that's come up about him leaving it's from sides trying to make him part of the reason his brother changes teams. But that's not reason enough for us to trade him.
To answer your question - the only way we'd trade a contracted player is if we knew we were going to be able to get either Rankine or Lukosius to our club, and retain the assets we had.
Not happy with Ben Long?
Has shown more than Bolton IMO.
I think he’s worth around a third round pick.

Bolton looks like shit tbh
Shai? He hasn't been around long and his junior form was excellent. He's fast and outside with a take the game on style. Him and Rankine would make me pretty happy. We'd increase our foot speed quickly.
I was a ploy by Geelong to keep him on a lower wage. They never offered big money and negotiated with Adelaide to not get into a bidding war. He went for supposedly $200,000 than what he was offered elsewhere and was happy to take less and wait for a TPP increase which was factored into his contract.
You talking about Michael Bolton or the jockey impersonating a coach?Bolton looks like shit tbh
