Give: 8, F1, F2/27
Get: 3, 20

?

Draft night: 3, 7, 20

3 - Sam Lalor / Finn O'Sullivan / Jagga Smith / Sid Draper
7 - Josh Smillie (Lock it in regardless of trades)
20 - Xavier Lindsay / Matt Whitlock / Alex Dodson / Jobe Shanahan (so many options at this pick that won't be there at 27)
Around 7 options I would think (sorry couldn't help myself)

I'm afraid Richmond are wanting pick 3 and West Coast want to remain in the top 10 (so get our pick 8), if so we'd get a future 1st and a couple of picks in the 20's.
Maybe when the Bolton deal goes through some different options emerge.

Tigers also want to spread the risk and have future first round picks for next year.

They will also be getting pick 6 and an early second for Rioli and two firsts for Bolton.

In addition, Tigers can do a pick swap with North for pick 2 with some of those aforementioned first round picks.

I’m not sure pick 3 to Tigers is necessarily a hill they will die on in order to get the Baker deal done. Otherwise why bring in a third club?

I think the tiers are:

1-2
3-7
8-15
16-25

Don't underestimate the jump from 27 to 20, there will be key players not available at 27 that will be at 20 like the Whitlock brothers and Alex Dodson all pretty handy for our list.

Geelong seem to bully clubs via the media into accepting whatever picks they have for players so we can try that out if needed. I also suspect there will be some players traded out next year that net us picks.

Thats exactly what I'm thinking

We need to be in and under 7, the higher the better.

Get 3 and its a game changer.

More about us getting our preference of the talent available at 20 rather than who is left at 27

3 - Jagga Smith
7 - Josh Smillie
20 - Alex Dodson

Would set our midfield up for the next decade, cop a small dip in drafting next year and then back to regular scheduled programming after.

I’m not buying the current narrative about next years draft, 12 months out they have no idea. Wasn’t this years draft rubbish, how’s that looking now ?.

Any club throwing away future firsts deserves to have it come back and bite them badly, including st Kilda.
It’s the number of academy and father sons.

Cal - if west coast trade p3 it’s because a player is involved.
I reckon the West Coast deal might be a 4-way trade with Richmond and Gold Coast, something like the below:

Assuming STK F1 is rated around pick 8 in 2025

STK receive: Pick 3, Pick 13, 63
WCE receive: Liam Baker, Pick 8, Pick 19 (from RICH via FRE for Bolton), Pick 51 (for Champion)
RICH receive: STK F1, WCE F2
GC receive: Pick 26, 30 (via Bolton trade), STK F2

In summary:
STK give up pick 8, F1, F2 for pick 3, pick 13, pick 63
WCE give up pick 3, pick 26, F2, pick 63 for Baker, pick 8, pick 19, pick 51
RICH give up Baker, pick 19, pick 30, pick 51 for STK F1, WCE F2
GC give up pick 13 for picks 26, 30, STK F2

STK end up with picks 3, 7, 13, 27, 47, 63

Please don't get mad at me if its unfair to any team, its just to spark some discussion :D

Happy to update it if someone suggests an improvement

EDIT: it seems like while I was writing this, people have already suggested similar so glad we're on the same wavelength

I'd usually agree as the risk is that you have a shocking year & give up a top end pick (Like the Filth did in the Schultz trade).

In this situation we're trying to trade for a top 3 pick.

So even if we have a proper stinker next year, it's akin to swapping one top end pick for another (ignoring of course that it also cost us the services of one who shall not be named)

100% , fancy a kid who is not that great this year but improves out of sight next , but all the geniuses out there can see into the future

Based on this years form of course. There’s a lot of development in so many of those boys and you expect some of the northern academy boys to be showing some form given the hot-housing they get. I think it’s a fools game to throw away picks this far out, look at how often we hear this line about lousy drafts and predicted super drafts, how often has it been true ?.

We have a plan laid out for some time to push some marbles into this year and to hit free agency/trading ok fair enough I’m ok with that. That’s different to what we’re looking at where some sort of mass hysteria has gripped the league and they’re selling like the markets crashed. We need to stick to the plan and keep our heads and that means treating future draft picks as previous assets not worthless betting slips.

I hesitate to post because it's come from the Trade Whisperer but;

"St Kilda have raised the topic of Ned Moyle with the Suns"

"Ned Reeves also a player of interest"
Wouldn’t mind Moyle. Witts isn’t getting younger either

Isn’t pick 20 the first pick of the second round?

The pick we begin the second night of the draft?

If so that is a darn good pick. Lots of reassessing after the end of the first round. Could get some big offers with live trading.

Okay hear me out, what if Richmond’s Pick 1 was on the table?

Richmond give 1 and Baker, receive 3 and 8.
West Coast give 3 and 26, receive Baker and future first round pick.
St Kilda give future first round pick and 8, receive picks 1 and 26.
