He is averaging 18.5 Disposals per game this season with a stuffed body.
Our regular best 22 healthy mids are averaging around 20 - 20.5.Disposals per game
If we get a good deal offered take him.

Surprised by the admiration of Lethlean on here as some sort of saviour, there are reasons he missed out on plenty of CEO roles around the league - it sure wasn't just his indiscretions.

Look into his connection to Hannebery and Gallagher.

Hope we’ve done a thorough medical and got a private eye to sus out his nocturnal activities!
The thought of another Carlisle signing and expose just doesn’t thrill me.
Why’s Sydney letting him go? He’s not a FA.
Who cares about his private life. Find him a new dealer down here for all I care

It'd be our first rounder and some steak knifes in the form of a player. Maybe Newnes or someone.
Nope. We are keeping our first.

It's a salary dump.

We should also take McVeigh and offer a coaching position after nextf season

If it doesn't take our first it would be a massive win. The dude has been fantastic for a very long time i just don't see how it wouldn't.

Love the last bit of that though, agree completely.

I’ll tell you why I care...

At Sydney he and his mate/s were protected, as sure as nuts the first time he’s caught at the Saints he’ll be on his third strike and bye bye our 5 year investment and hello “good old Saints stuff up again.”

I’m gun shy. So get him by all means, but make bloody sure they’ve investigated all about him, including his body. 5 years is a long time for a guy whose body is already battered.

If any of you think a contracted Hannebery is coming for less than a first rounder then take your rose coloured glasses off.

Then he can stay. If the Swans are trying to unload him for salary cap and bc he’s broken down then his value is definitely lowered.

Remember, we didn't want Fyfe because he was injured?

Remember JOM was a shot Bird?
How many on here said Freeman would never play a game?
Remember Burgoyne and Port had dudded Hawthorn because his body was shot?

Yes it is a risk but what are we supposed to do? Just never have a go and stay a crap 15th for the next decade.

Jeez he is 28 next season. May have 5 more after that.

Put it this way. We have pick 4 in a super draft where we could get Rankine or Lukucious.

If we trade that for a very good but shop soiled 28 year old, that's it for me, I will chuck in my membership, because it confirms we are run by a bunch of effing idiots.

I’m ok to get him... just not for a first rounder. He’ll certainly provide leadership and an example of hardness.

He'd bring a lot of leadership, that's for sure. 5 years is a big contract though. He'll need surgery in the off-season so will probably have a delayed preaseason as well. If I was at the swans I'd be asking for Saints 1st regardless, but if we take that then we are seriously shooting ourselves in the foot.

Mate, you've read two statements on bigfooty and are now treating them as fact. It is completely unconfirmed if they are unloading him for salary or if he's broken down long term.

The only thing that's been reported is that we are the ones chasing him.

His value stands as a contracted star whose had a year ruined by injury. Something he does not have a history of.

Is there something to this? Could there be a connection between those two?

You mean everything on BF isn’t fact?
Ok. It is actually well known that he has been injured this season.
There would be an absolute mutiny if we gave up pick 3/4/5 whatever we get for him.
Even our admin could not be that stupid!

I'm not even saying we should do it I'm only saying that's what it would take if we were too.

Hannebery would take a first rounder to get done.

Personally I think the draft is way overrated and almost always is. Super-drafts are written about in hindsight.

Hannebery is 27 and obviously playing injured.

I'm not saying he will or wont get his fitness back but why do so many pretend to be an expert on Dan Hannebery's body? Would he be the first 27 year old to have an injury riddled year and then get his body right again?

Saying that, it's always going to be a risk and I wouldn't be giving up this years first for him that's for sure. If Sydney are looking to free up some cap we'd be mad not to chase him. An elite runner that finds a good mix of contested and uncontested footy.
