Players wont come to us, we finished 16th, thats life., so we went to a player, Hanneberry, who no-one else was chasing, and extracted him from Sydney for a good price. Ditto Kent from Dees. Job done.

Did anyone seriously think that Shiel/Gaff/Wingard/Scully etc etc would just pop their flag aspirations on hold for 3-4 years for a pile of cash? Well a few did but its been shown you can have all the $ in the world but if you cant promise finals you are bugger all chance of landing "big fish". McGovern was an aberration.

We tried for Sheil and Scully and no dice.

Even North who climbed the ladder only got Polec and Hall, missed out on Gaff.

Fair enough. I had a look through his history when he told us Acres would be traded and I couldn't find anything he got right that had not already been reported or mentioned on here. Maybe I missed some.

Now that the news is already public, he mentioned James Gallagher to me three weeks before it happened, which is so far out of left field that I trust him.

We are going to split it and see if we can get an extra 2-3 average picks that we have

I’m pretty meh about the whole thing probably because I didn’t really expect that much to happen.

We made a couple of good trades early and they are good trades for our needs. Now we get down to tin tacs, we didn’t have much to trade with one decent pick and our players with real currency we want and need to keep.

We pitched to Shiel and he knocked us back, gaff stayed at west coast and wasn’t interested in us. I’m just a bit perplexed as to who it was out of the players moving we should have chased and had the capital to do so. The game for us is all about pick 4 we’ll get a great young player or a great deal to trade down.

Hopefully with the changes we have made on and off the field we’ll have a better year and our young side will start to hit its straps.

I’m pretty meh about the whole thing probably because I didn’t really expect that much to happen.

We made a couple of good trades early and they are good trades for our needs. Now we get down to tin tacs, we didn’t have much to trade with one decent pick and our players with real currency we want and need to keep.

We pitched to Shiel and he knocked us back, gaff stayed at west coast and wasn’t interested in us. I’m just a bit perplexed as to who it was out of the players moving we should have chased and had the capital to do so. Polec and Setterfield are the only ones that moved that I regret us not making a big try for.

The comment on here that after the Shiel knock back we were coming late at everything makes me think we were less than strategic in our dealings - might explain Jaxons ott anger at wasting our time with Shiel.

Maybe if we'd had more in play earlier some unknown moves would have come up as well.

No doubt we will have a better year, with an easier fixture and cause surely we couldn't be any worse than
this year, considering we do have some genuine talent on the list!

But it looks to me like we will be happy just to get to midtable { where we should be anyway }
and see it as promising improvement. No doubt giving the freckled imposter another 2 yrs on top!

I think Lew is the better ruck and we will need some backup if Longer goes down.

Rookies can play now anyway, don’t need to be upgraded anymore. And pierce only one year on the list. Think Marshall has done enough to the point where he needs to be upgraded or delisted. Not 100% on that though.

Anyone who thinks we are a mess please take a look at GC's 2015 B+F results.

In the last week they have lost players who finished 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7 to go with the loss of 6, 8, 9 & 10 the years before.

They also has picks 4, 7, 9 & 10 in the 2016 draft (sound familiar) and just traded one of those kids for a 4th rounder

Absolute basket case. At least they sold May this year so the FA compo doesn't push our pick back next year

They weren't always a done deal. They were potentially done deals by the time we thought about them, which was kind of the point I was making (based on BF posts only mind you...)

That’s the bit that concerns me, if we don’t improve then surely cho is gone.

Correct me if I am wrong but the following teams have picks between 28 and 46 and also father son/academy selections, meaning their picks will be used to make up points;

Brisbane - 30, 32, 35, 41, 44
Sydney - 33, 38, 39, 40
North - 42
WB - 44
GC - 29

I believe most of these picks will be used for academy/father son points, which then means the gap between 28 and 36 and 28 and 46 becomes much less than what it is currently.

I don't think he makes things up or is a troll, just take anything he says with a grain of salt because as I said, he's yet to get anything correct that I have seen posted on here unless it's already been reported.

All good mate hadn't seen the media stuff so genuinely unaware. I guess everyone can take it for what it's worth. Waldy IMO has done enough for me to know he knows a bit. Anyway!

Probably because we see clubs like Hawthorn prepared to give up an up and coming star like Burton to get someone they rate higher like Wingard into their team. Thats what I call being aggressive. Sure the strategy comes with a risk but throwing a bucket load of cash at a player isn't being aggressive in my view. Any team can do that.

Outside of Stuv, Ross, Gresh, Jake and maybe JB and Acres everyone else was fair game in my opinion. Newnes, Paddy, Bruce, Savage for starters.
