Well unlike Gaff, at least you are a man of your word.

lol they reckon pick 4 is not enough for him. I'd give him a wide berth.

Besides, dwarves should be shot out of a cannon or set on fire by St Kilda. :stern look
It's always weird when you go all tribal with other clubs, I never expect it from you.

If Gaff doesn't want to be here he can GAGF and I hope he's as successful as Buckley in his quest for flags.

One positive is that we should be able to sweeten the deal to entice Finlayson now.

Landing Polec, Hall, Finlayson and Newman and drafting TT (hopefully Scott) is a pretty decent outcome.

Can keep the war chest intact for JK2020.

You will be back during the trade period when something unexpected happens :)

Man you are fixated with this dollar amount. As I said, it would be something like $350k per year for 3 years, front loaded $1m next year so we can use it after 2019 on Kelly. If he was a first round pick and played all 22 games he would make $200k. Stop acting like I have said give him $10m over 10 years.

I am fixated on the dollar amount, because your suggestion is effectively pay $1m up front to a guy that might not even be on an AFL list in 2021.

Anyway, agree to disagree xo

Is this a self exile punishment for a wrong prediction? A greater punishment would be to stay, you can bet you'll be reminded pretty much daily.

I, too, am fixated with the amount. Because that is the bit that makes the suggestion ridiculous.

Andrew Gaff tells West Coast he’s staying, rejects North Melbourne

WEST Coast’s Andrew Gaff has made the huge call to stay with the Eagles.

The Herald Sun has confirmed the free agent has informed the club of his decision and is expected to sign a long-term deal worth around $900,000 a year.

North Melbourne had tried to lure the 26-year-old with multi-million-dollar offer but has missed out.

The Kangaroos were informed on Sunday.

It means the Roos have tried hard but ultimately failed to land another superstar midfielder after recently missing out on brilliant ballwinners Dustin Martin, Isaac Heeney, Adam Treloar and Josh Kelly.

However, the Roos are certain to go even harder at Kelly with another $1.5 million a year contract next season.

Kelly is out of contract at the end of next year.

But the Roos are still set for a busy fortnight as the club closes in on Port speedster Jared Polec, Gold Coast’s Aaron Hall and GWS backman Jeremy Finlayson.

Gaff’s signature is huge coup for Adam Simpson’s men as the Eagles chase back-to-back flags next year.

He is one of the best wingman and most prolific ballwinners in the competition.

West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett said on Saturday the club was still waiting for an answer from Gaff and his management.

“Andrew has to make a decision very soon, so hopefully it’s within the next 48 hours so that we can then start to plan what we do from there,” Nisbett said.

Gaff did not speak about his future when he gave a speech at the club’s John Worsfold Medal presentation on Friday night to accept his trophy for fifth place.

“The last week or so has been unbelievable to celebrate with all you guys. It’s a special moment,” Gaff said.

“I’d like to thank Simmo (coach Adam Simpson). He’s there for me when things are going well and also when times are tough. I really appreciate your support throughout this difficult time for me.”

If our offer wasn't kept on the table we would have just been replaced with some other club. The only way to avoid the disappointment of being looked over is to do a whole lot better with drafting and player development. We have players get to a certain point but too many plateau too low. Guys like Ziebell, Cunnington, etc should have been collecting the big bucks but have some significant shortcomings which have prevented them breaking into the elite category.

Ziebell might make that leap forward as a forward, he has to be a lot more reliable in the corridor though. Cunnington might make it, he has to do more than waddle between the arcs though, he has to get more uncontested ball, a number of games he barely cracked 70% ToG, he needs to work on his endurance if he wants to be in the top echelon. We have a lot of players that have had obvious deficiencies for a long time.

I'd prefer we spend the money internally, but they need to be earning it.

And I'd be happy if it was another club left standing holding their collective *****. We offered him 8 million dollars, I think we held about 8 million aces and could have pushed for an answer. It went on and on and now it's too late for us to make other plans. Y or N is all we had to demand.

We'll never know although I will ask, did we really want Polec or was it a Polec/Gaff combo that we viewed as important. Have we now jumped the gun by offering 10 for Polec when we had considered strapping pick 10 to Wood and shaking a few trees to see what fell out.

We became it would seem fixated on the outcomes and all else was pushed a side, we need to toughen the **** up and real quick. We haven't done much for years and time is ticking, we've been pantzed and left standing in our blue ringers

I prayed to God to let us sign Dusty Martin. He teased me and then didn't deliver.
I prayed to God to not do that to me again ...

My trust is waning. Just saying.

God is telling us we need to internally develop an outside mid and a small forward
