I agree with those saying Tyson is better than he's being given credit for. A former no. 3 pick, 25ish year old 100 gamer who will be a quality individual and a regular, and who we traded in for a VFL ruckman and pick 61ish.
I loved the melts on pick 61. For the record the last 10 pick 61s have been:

Dom Barry
Tom Williamson
Shane Yarran
Harris Andrews (Academy)
Jamie Bennell
Taylor Hine
Alex Brown
Kirk Ugle
Jesse Stringer
Campbell Heath

Surely nobody really believes we would trade away a pick which would cost us Hall or Scott?

No I won't.

As Scott's will play Cunners and Tyson at the same time making our midfield treacle. You know he will - experience over youth.

It isn't like Tyson is 33. And who are our young gun inside mids he'll stop from playing? LDU will play regardless and Ahern and Higgins are better used more outside.

You're having a massive sook over not much.

Hawks are close to a premiership are they, geez they went out in straight sets in very convincing fashion, both the teams that beat them will also be better next year.
True, but they don't have to be close, just closer than Saints. Which almost everyone is.

Someone in here mentioned the other day that Scully had an interest in us at some point recently

Nah, I reckon you might be a whoreforn supporter looking to throw someone else under the rejection bus.

So instead of using pick 11 on Polec we could have got Scully for bugger all. ouch!
If Scully was available for bugger all, what would pick 11 have to do with it?

Future picks.

We should be into him and offer more than Hawthorn can.

The gold passes are off the table until next year.

We wanted to add midfield depth and bring in outside pace, we did it.

The jewel in the crown awaits us in 12 months time.

Future picks.

What I have been saying endlessly. He was never going to cost much. They need to off-load. Joyce should've been doing his due diligence instead of worrying about off cuts.

I don't care about Pruess but if our trading costs us one of Scott or Thomas I will be fuming, the only ins that were essential at the start of trade week were Polec, Hall, TT and Scott
How would it cost us Scott or TT? We get them no matter what. Worse case scenario we go into deficit for a pick next year

People are underrating Tyson. He isn’t a good wingman, that’s true but we haven’t recruited him for that purpose.

The biggest benefit with him is that he is an excellent two way runner. We don’t have enough of them in our midfield.

He is also another excellent user by hand and whilst also being neat by foot.

The only reason he got pushed out of Melbourne was because he couldn’t play as a genuine inside mid with Viney, Oliver, Jones and Brayshaw all in there.

He doesn’t have that sort of competition here. We really only have Cunnington and Anderson as genuine inside extractor types.

Tyson allows Hall/Ahern/Higgins/Polec more time on the outside which will benefit our forwards immensely! His recruitment also allows Froggy to stay in his position where he developed this year. Also a big positive.

He is no spud, that’s for certain!
This!

What do you mean?

We would still have pick 11 and get Scully instead of Polec

We could've easily gotten both. Instead we devalued our moves by adding Pittard or Tyson.

That's the difference between good dealing and great dealing.

That's my issue, we're always aiming to be good, not great.
