I'd be more comfortable without the third pick seeing under no circumstance am I trading next years first. We don't know what happens with NGA and I would say it's rather prudent to prepare for the worst possible outcome there.

I don't understand why Port, a team lacking younger talent, have sold all their draft currency for pick 6. Are they totally insane?

I won't comment on whether they're insane, but i see no logical pattern given their list profile etc

Ports list management group are stupid. They continually make bad decisions and then make more bad decisions to try and fix it. Their list is imbalanced and their salary cap is all over the place. Imagine putting all your cap into Dixon, Watts, Rockliff, Motlop and now Lycett. All on way overs.

I would only do 8+16 for 5, if Lions threw something back, e.g. their pick 32.

Their talking about the GWS cap squeeze and giving players away for free. Is anyone talking AFL investigating how this has come about. Does the AFL not audit clubs re their cap. If it was the AFC we would be totally investigated and punished.

They do and it's quite likely the opposite would happen, in that GWS would get in strife if they were trying to hold out for maximum value for an uncontracted player.

8-16 for 5. Maybe also including a later brisbane pick coming our way - maybe even a 2019 3rd so it frees up our 2019 1st rounder. Then we are above port and can easily say to St Kilda, we will swap 5 for 4 and a swap of our 2019 2nd for their 2019 3rd and they get M King and we get a player we want. Or..Maybe Reif then says we have 4, 13 & 21 - do we swap 4 & 21 to GC for Pick 2 and a 2nd rounder - they can take 2 SA lads if they still wanted and we get the player we want and keep 13 and a 2nd rounder - it could really open up doors for us if we can get pick 5 from Brisbane...if we were hell bent on getting Luko or Rankine

Probably their best shot considering how many top end talents they brought in at the same time. They now have to come back to the pack and have failed to win a GF. This is just a result of how much talent and extra cap space they were gifted.

NGA - Next Gen Academy, so we train (as well as every other club) a small bunch of indigenous/whatever the word is for comes from another county (I've completely forgotten it). If they're good enough we have the ability to draft them in a similar manner to FS.

Something that is rather up in the air next season. Naturally we have a few high end prospects in the next two years.
