It's probably been said but Wade shouldn't be picked as a specialist batsman. He doesn't have the class of a proper batsman. He still bats like a keeper. He won't average more than 30 at Test level. You have to be a proper, world class batsman at this level and he's not. He looks ugly out there.
I don't really care if he's a long term option.

Obviously 6 Smiths would be ideal but we don't have that luxury. Players who can score 30/40/50 in England will do while Smith is playing like this. Wade has failed once and passed once. He stays.

Bancroft is the real worry.

He's looking pretty good to me.

Right now he's doing better than Warner and Bancroft combined
 
Yep, I remember heaps of people letting Swann off the hook for abandoning his last Ashes campaign because he could barely use his arm. Maybe if you can't play don't declare yourself fit expecting the side to carry your injured carcass over the victory line! Same goes for Michael Clarke in the doldrums of his career.

Clarke should barely have played 2015 World Cup, let alone 2015 ashes
