Ladies and gents, we have ourselves a middle order
If they lose two early wickets, they won't even bother try to attempt to chase the runs down regardless of who is in. Would be all about preserving wickets.I don't think a draw is that likely given we don't lose any significant time to rain/ bad light. If we don't bowl them out they are likely to get a fair proportion of their runs from the 2 or 3 of Roy, Butler, Root, Stokes and Bairstow all of who usually get their runs pretty quickly. If they go after GOAT and hit him out of the attack this pitch doesn't really suit the rest of the attack as we have no real back up spin option. This is a bit like like those sub continental pitches where it can be hard when you first come in but not bad to bat on once set. We're entitled to be favourites given the turn and the footmarks, but we're no way certainties yet.
Day 4?Great knock. 300+ up with time left on day 3, good day all round.
Day 4 not 3Great knock. 300+ up with time left on day 3, good day all round.
Day 4?
Batting looking a bit too easy here
New batter Paine hasn't raised a sweat vs the new ball
Might make us reluctant to aggressively set a chase
So glad they are picking the best cricketers again and not just nice blokes
Put the hammer down, happy to see them ground into the dust.
How far away is Wade?it would be kinda poetic if both Wade and Paine got their 1000th test run this innings
Miss the good old days when Warne wanted Stoinis and Meredith in the Ashes playing XI during the Big bash.
