Who is Ben Johnson?
I should have phrased it as, ‘Why is he a notable absentee?’ I mean he is not in contention for the first game so to lump him with premiership players is a bit strange.Have you been living under a stone? Or just not obsessed?

Gotta Love This

I can see some merit in bringing in A a 208 cm Afro Canadian that can run like the wind.A sprinter who broke the 100m world record at the 1988 Seoul olympics, only to have his gold medal stripped two days later for doping.
Sounds like a consultant to help Willie in his ASADA case.
Maybe Schofield was required to give Darling a bit of a pressured workoutInteresting to see Rotham favoured over Schofield

is it just me or does Darling look rather top heavy
It was the greatest 100 metres sprint I have ever seen.A sprinter who broke the 100m world record at the 1988 Seoul olympics, only to have his gold medal stripped two days later for doping.

Bullshit.Treacy? No chance IMO.
He had quite the build the bust packs as well. Just huge.It was the greatest 100 metres sprint I have ever seen.
Apologies, Mrs Treacy.Bullshit.

177cm tall and 208cm long perhaps? He certainly was nowhere near 208cm. Unless you’re referring to the distance he “won” by.
On the outer? West Coast Eagles’ Jake Waterman, Will Schofield suit up for ‘the rest’ in match simulation

West Coast forward Jake Waterman could be squeezed out of the team for round one in favour of high-flier Brendon Ah Chee, despite his solid form this pre-season.
The 21-year-old and veteran Will Schofield suited up for the “rest” against the likely round one team in a half-hour match simulation in a closed session at Mineral Resources Park today.
Much of the Eagles’ best suited up for the run through, with Josh Kennedy (elbow), Bailey Williams (hamstring), Ben Johnson and Liam Duggan the only noticeable absentees.
Waterman’s exclusion from the stronger team was the biggest surprise, with the fourth-year forward booting three goals against Essendon a little over a fortnight ago in an impressive performance alongside Kennedy.
The father-son product was one of a number of Eagles to have a quiet game against Fremantle at the weekend, going goalless and collecting 14 disposals as the team’s second key forward.
Schofield surprisingly lined up on forward Jack Darling, who was back in full contact work after a few weeks dealing with a broken cheekbone, with Josh Rotham joining fellow defenders Jeremy McGovern, Tom Barrass, Brad Sheppard, Jackson Nelson and Lewis Jetta at the opposite end of the field.

Rotham returned through the team’s WAFL side at the weekend, putting on a best-on-ground performance against Peel Thunder in the curtain-raiser scratch match as he buildings his fitness from a hamstring strain.
Utility Oscar Allen, who has had an injury interrupted pre-season with hernia, knee and ankle issues, moved freely as he partnered Darling up forward in a sign that the youngster could be ready come early in the season.
Premiership ruckman Nathan Vardy continued his push to take on Melbourne in round one by partnering star Nic Naitanui, while the Eagles’ experiment with their new midfield, with Tim Kelly, Luke Shuey and Elliot Yeo lining up against the younger midfielders.
Utility Jarrod Brander appears to be ahead of premiership tagger Mark Hutchings based on the line-ups, with the Victorian impressing with his positioning as he continues to grow in his new role on the wing.
The quartet of Kennedy, Williams, Duggan and Johnson all participated in the warm up drills, before heading to the other east oval to do light skill work while match simulation took place.
Second-year forward Jarrod Cameron was also seen walking laps as he continues to battle a pubic bone stress injury.

Yep. The anti doping agency sure cut him down to size.He certainly was nowhere near 208cm. Unless you’re referring to the distance he “won” by.
Worth watching.
