How often does a Port supporting lad request a trade from Adelaide?

Edit: answered the wrong question.

There has been 6 trades between us I think? The best player from them was Matty Bode (and we'll ignore who Port drafted from that one. Will cause an aneryusm).

Intriguingly more players have gone Port to Adelaide, then Adelaide to Port. Might just be a wierd quirk of a small sample size as the quality of players traded between the two clubs is usually just depth pieces.

Because a late second is overs for Steven. That’s a fair deal if they are going to cover some of the guys salary. Steven is 30 next season and has already stepped away from the game (more than once iirc) for mental health reasons. No way in hell is he worth a second. Personally I wouldn’t go near him.
If I'm the Saints, I'm not trading him out and paying his salary when they want to keep him.

Geelong and St Kilda aren't that far away. Maybe Jack can move down to Geelong and drive the whole 1 hour to work each day

Never a "star" player anyway. Always a player that's surplus to the other team's needs. Like Frampton is about to be.

Sure Bode was the best, but....

Most likely. I'm actually confident Frampton will make it with us though, and sit in that awkward good role player type that isn't worth upgrading. Similar to where Bode maxed out.

Just some traits I keep coming back too which should stand up well to the jump to AFL. I also liked he was on leading goal kicker pace in the SANFL in his first season as a forward.

Sold the farm??? Yeah ...nah! Geelong have a 30% chance of getting a future 100 game player with those picks. West Coast have an All-Australian superstar for the next 5 years.
You don't win premierships with pick 14s and pick 24's ...
Kelly was a pIck 24

It’s probably one of the biggest trades of all time. So in that sense I don’t see how you could not call it selling the farm, when that phrase is commonly thrown around. Yes, they got an AA superstar. Didn’t question that. Just said they sold the farm for him, possibly a year too late.

Not sure how you have managed to devalue the picks associated with the trade as we have about 3 threads full of people coming up with ideas to do trades for picks like these so we can rebuild our own list.

That 2000 draft was one of our dumbest.(one of many) Angwin pick 7, Handby our 2nd round. Someone called Michael Smith 3rd round. FWISW Kane Cornes went pick 21. We did get Johncock as a late roughie though.

Don't go underestimating Charlie Constable, big tall midfielder, elite inside the contest and a clearance machine....just needed to work on his endurance. Should have had more AFL exposure than he has, he's quality.
He’s not rated very highly at Geelong, wouldn’t be surprised to see him at another club next year

Yeah Fantasia as a drafter was something to behold.

some port wank3r was having a dig at the crows so I posted this when he joked about us missing gibbs due to the 200 game rule

Lets hope james borlace ends up a star playing for the crows as one of our academy picks next year then as it looks like those same rules you are so happy about have cost port the chance to take him as a father son. Thanks goes to michaelangelo rucci though as who would have thought all those years back when he highlighted it with gibbs it would come back to bite port on the arse

He's going to be a star. Not that I know much about Borlace, but the do a lot of legwork and then blowing up on you in time is Port to a tee

And so were Henry Schade (2011), Nathan Wright (2012), Billy Hartung (2013), Jack Steele (2014), Ben Keays (2015), Cedric Cox (2016).

Jake Carlisle (2010) and Jamie Cripps (2009) were the only 24's in the last 10 years who amounted to anything.

So ....30% chance.

I was just answering the bit about not winning with pick 24s, and WC being great for trading for Kelly.

Could have drafted him 2 years ago and saved a heap of picks.

I reckon the one player that is being shopped around that is a need for us is Howard. I am not sure why Port don’t want him as a KPD though. But I’d be drafting him as a KPD.

If he is after money then surely we will have more cap space than any other team in the league with the number of senior players leaving us.

We’ve got two picks in the 20s. Surely one of those gets you Howard. I like what Reid is saying about going to the draft. But really what he should mean is restructuring the age profile of our list. Ideally we don’t go too young either.

Clubs have come a calling on Constable this trade period ....GEEL have said he's a required player

Jack Steele is a gun and would be B22 at every club in the country including mine and yours.
