B. Crouch, M. Crouch and Greenwood for picks 1 & 2
Laird and Smith for pick 15 and 2020 1st
Betts for 44
JJ for a packet of chips (salary dump)
Gibbs for Frampton (salary dump)
Pick up Partington at the draft
Keep CEY as a big body

2020
Massive offer for Grundy as a FA that Collingwood can’t match (noting massive cash freed up from the Crouches, Gibbs, JJ, Laird, Smith, Greenwood and Betts)
We will finish bottom so pick 1 and pick 19, 2020
We will finish bottom so get Luko for nothing at the PSD
Whats the point in getting Grundy if our midfield is all traded out?

FRANCIS CLOSE TO NEW BOMBERS DEAL
Essendon has finally tied down promising swingman Aaron Francis to a new deal.
The Bombers are close to formalising a fresh contract for Francis, cementing his transformation from wantaway youngster to committed key tall.
Francis asked to be traded home to South Australia in 2017 after only two years at the club, but was forced to stay put when a deal failed to materialise.
He then stepped away for a month before the start of last season to deal with a mental health issue.
But a purple patch of form at the end of 2018 has been followed by a career-best season in which he has featured at both ends of the ground across 16 games.
At 22, Francis is happy and healthy and the childhood Essendon supporter is ready to turn his back on interest from his home state.
He had sought assurances earlier this year over his role in a team that contains fellow talls Michael Hurley, Cale Hooker, Patrick Ambrose, Michael Hartley, Joe Daniher, Shaun McKernan and Mitch Brown.
He has averaged 4.6 intercept possessions, while going at 70 per cent efficiency by foot.
Coach John Worsfold said at the start of the season Francis was in a much better frame of mind.
“He’s a different person now. I don’t think we saw the real Aaron Francis until halfway through last year,” Worsfold told the league website.
“Everyone wanted to help him, but nobody knew what we could do to help him. We think he’s gotten to that position where he’s a good guy around the club and he’s had a good pre-season.”
Francis’ imminent signing is a coup for Essendon, who are also expected to secure halfback Mason Redman to a new deal, while Mitch Brown is also set to sign-on after another serviceable season.
But out of contract livewire Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti remains a live concern as rivals including North Melbourne, Carlton and the Western Bulldogs circle.
Well done here.

Our Sanfl side would beat Gold coast.... we'd have to actively tank to be worse than them
It defies all sense that we are not playing in a ressies league with all the folding the AFL has.
It is astonishing and ridiculous.

Isn't that just media talk $$$$'s wise especially in Brad's case and similarly Hughy, from what I've heard it's tenure not $$$$'s in their cases that's the sticking point. I think tenure is pretty high in Alex's wants too isn't it?

I agree but the way Bcrouch is acting and what is leaked to the media is poor and makes him look like an idiot. If that’s how he feels, he should do it behind closed doors. Looks really poor in my eyes

I am leaning to the Management company stirring the pot and attracting interest in light of Trade and Draft week coming up.

Future business rests on doing deals and up and coming families seeing those deals and signing with the management company

BCROUCH is looking like an absolute D******D, asking for anyone to give him a million a year after one good year. People like that aren’t team players and I’d rather him piss of now

Yeh I'm sure when you ask for a payrise one day and your boss calls you a dickhead you'll take it like a champ.

Is there some sort of competition on the Adelaide Board to see who can post the most outlandish and unlikely trade scenarios or have people completely lost their marbles?
No they are just posted on the wrong board.

Outlandish and unlikely trades happen every year just not us.

I don’t know. Kelly was pretty good and will get them considerable return.

I more meant the addition of senior players which has given them a MASSIVE youth void (even bigger than ours)

Henderson, Tuohy, Dangerfield, S. Selwood, Ablett, Rohan, Dalhaus all in the last few years.
At least half of those guys are gone in the next 2 years and they havent won a flag.

Depends how you measure success. If it's by winning a flag (which certainly is a factor) then 17 teams fail every year.

Geelong have been very competitive over a long period of time. Many had them not even making the 8 this year let alone being minor premiers.

The stars still have to align to win a flag regardless of how good your list is.

Unfortunately that is the clear measure.
We are not a successful club and we've finished in the finals a higher % than almost any other team.

Geelongs last few years are very reminiscent of ours from say 2007-2010.
We finished high up a couple of those years and didnt make the GF.

Did anyone notice in the presser when 'salary' was brought up with Jenkins, his manager almost let slip that he wasn't on huge money at the back end of his contract with the Crows. He just went on to say 'he's happy to take a pay cut....' but those interested should have a listen.

If you're on $2 million over 4 years, yet you've grabbed $600k in the first two years, is it taking a pay cut if you ask for $450k from another club? (avg over 4 years is $500k) :p

If he's grabbed $600k in each of the first 2 years, then he's only on $400k for the last 2 years - so $450k would be a pay rise!
