Questionable taste in TV

What’s your favourite TV show?

Love Island at the minute.

But interested why Soli was named here along with ex Giants teammates

Which new teammates are you looking forward to playing alongside?

Nick Murray, Cheese (Isaac Cumming) and Jake Soligo.

Interesting that Peatling credits Ben Hart for his development at the Giants. First time I've heard of Hart spoken about positively.

“More recently, the big one has been Ben Hart, who obviously played at the Crows. He was my midfield coach at the Giants and he was a guy who gave me the trust and belief that I could perform at AFL level.”

I wouldn't read too much into it. He probably answered on a whim,
after training for a week together might have just named who he's become mates with, who's made him laugh most, who's been training hardest or who's throwing the most tin.
Dudes are simple creatures!

Yep true.

Also this popped up on my YouTube algos in recent days, not sure if already posted but anyway

Just had a look at Peatling's stats for 2024. GWS named him as sub for SEVEN out of his 19 games!

In the 12 games where he was not the sub, he laid 85 tackles. That's a lazy seven+ per game!

Statistically that puts him in the top 10-20 in the league (quick look at total tackles divided by 2024 games for other players, didn't do any 'scratch that injured/sub game' corrections like I did for Peatling).

Rowell, Steele, Xerri and Rowbottom are the only players to average over 7 tackles for the season.

Why did they play him sub for so many games? Was it a management thing?
Why not give a potential gun more of an opportunity.
Meanwhile,
we're out here playing Ned as sub week on week.
Then clipping him as soon as we could
(weeell you know what I mean!)

Because GWS are stacked in the midfield. Tough to get a gig in there! The impressive thing is that he actually did manage to force his way into the regular starting side as the year progressed, becoming a mainstay player in that dominant midfield.

Unlucky for him to go from one stacked midfield to another

I don't think the coach rated him highly. He should have had plenty of opportunity with Kelly and Coniglio injured throughout the year. Only when contract discussions escalate in the back of end of the season did he get consistent mid time.

And yet, he was a best 22 midfielder at the end of the season, when those injury issues were resolved.

Maybe he just earnt the coaches' confidence by year end with his improvement throughout the year.
