GWS are going to cop a hammering over their performance

I dont want to sound like putting the boots into them - however anyone who knows Western Sydney ( a souless end of the world concrete and asphalt jungle ) you wouldnt even know your in Australia - GWS - no one in Sydney gives 2 hoots about them

They got the nod - yet Tassie were just arrogantly dismissed ( Demetriou) - the arguement allways being Tassie didnt have a big enough economy - yet the AFL have poured tens of millions into GWS and Suns to prop them up - and forget NSW/Sydney Aussie Rules TV Ratings - because very few people watch it

If that had been Tasmania today ( not GWS ) playing - even if they got flogged by Richmond - they would at least have the whole state behind them - that state has got an Aussie Rules history - they would stand for something - even Mathew Richardson is from Devenport i think

Where as GWS - honestly - another mind boggling decision by the AFL

Martin was clear BOG.
He stood up when needed - did love him getting caught holding the ball though and then mouthing off

Just questioning if Pickett was really in the best 3 or if that was more the fairy tale element - not sure a seasoned player with the same output would have been in the votes

Pickett- excellent game considering, but top 5 ??
Anyway, it matters not.

GWS will do a Port and take over a decade to recover from this

25 points for a whole game is pathetic and should be rightly called out and mocked
Let's temper that by realising we only scored 16 points in a half last week.

It's scary that's it's their lowest ever score also

Twice GWS have been held to less than 30 points, and both times that's occurred within the last 8 weeks. That makes it even more pathetic - add to that us keeping them to 32 points at KP last year and that means 3 of their 4 lowest scores have been in the last 18 months when they are meant to be premiership contenders

Yet they made a GF.
As I always believe, the BEST team usually wins. USUALLY.

When i watched open mic with SJ they told him at 3Q time he won the Norm smith.

Anywoo doing it late in the last Q is probably the best one to do it.
That was his teammates wasn't it?

GWS were cooked and that was obvious to see in last 20 minutes of prelim.
Tigers mirroring cats 07-11. If they go back to back they’ll surpass us!
I think they'll miss 2020, but win 2021

Good decision - yes or no

Veteran Heath Shaw has vowed to play on at GWS next year following an unprecedented verbal commitment from CEO Dave Matthews just moments after the final siren.

Shaw, who turns 34 in November, is out of contract and conceded he would have retired if the Giants won on Saturday afternoon.

But an 89-point defeat saw Shaw’s career on a knife’s edge for all of 10 minutes after the premiership was lost.

“To be honest, I spoke to Dave Matthews when I was walking off the ground,” Shaw said in the rooms post-game.

“He said ‘you can’t go anywhere. You have to come for one more year.’ So I said to the few of the boys if we won a premiership I’d retire, but we didn’t win it. We will figure it out over the next couple of weeks.

“I’m not going anywhere and we have a little bit of unfinished business.”
