Coaching staffs don't move players around if the are succeeding in a role or position. They do it to either find them a role or hide them.

Xavien Howard is a genuine gun so don't act like Minkah was shutting star wrs down on a regular basis and he had no help in the secondary, he was playing across from a lockdown corner.

They moved him last year because he was covering injured players. Probably did it first game because they’re devoid of any talent.

Lol, he's so flexible Miami had him covering for injured backups that come off the bench in 5 games. He can even ride the pine for a third of the games in a season if asked......I mean where can't he play??

Don’t think so. Very harsh on a rookie who was doing ok. You want to keep knocking, knock yourself out.

What do mean don't think so? He started 5 games on the bench. That's a fact. First round corners and safeties don't start 5 games on the bench if they are good. Especially on a team as devoid of talent as you seem to believe.

Hmm ok, just out of interest do these time outs have to be back to back with no play in between or is it just 2 calls in a row by a defence no matter when they are called?
The former.

I assume its because of all the people that complain about the stop-start nature of the NFL already so they don't want the following sequence to happen:
- call TO > go to ad break > come back for pre-snap > TO > ad break > actually run a play

The old "XP > ad > kick-off > ad > run a play" was annoying enough

Big shit. Had third most snaps out of all defenders and played nearly every snap in second half of the year.

Makes sense, would also be asking a bit much of the zebras to keep track of time out calls in that way, they've got enough on their plate;)

Big s**t. Had third most snaps out of all defenders and played nearly every snap in second half of the year.

I'd hope a high first round selection would get snaps in the second half of the year when the season has become a lost cause. That was supposed to be impressive?

They were 7-6 at one stage. The 5 benches mean **** all, he was second leading tackler after first month.

This just reads like cheap ‘I told you so’ points by ADP down the track rather than any sort of actual conviction.

We’re also talking about a rookie DB.
So not exactly a position you expect a rookie to play well in let alone dominate.

Speaking of meaning **** all. You know when CBs get a lot of tackles don't you? When an opposition QB is targetting a match up. 👍

No surprise when a rookie is playing opposite Howard is it? Third highest number of snaps. That shows they wanted him on the field rather than off.

Did he run over your cat or something?

Your views on ELWAY automatically disqualify you from any debate on this board sorry 👍

Eli approx = Elway.

Gosh you remember shit posting from 5-6 years ago?

Merely top 15 and his current Bronco years ain’t helping.

Dagless has come to Bazzas aid because the Eagles lost and someone needs to pay.

Guess that's my cue to move on. Was a bit of fun while it lasted. 😕
More entertained by the cricket at the moment.

Eli Manning could set a career high with a 4th straight 300+ yd passing game this week 😲

I notice the AE TV guide has the 7Mate games different to what is on the actual TV guide - what's happening there?

Don’t mean to jinx us but Bills have only given up 1 game of over 200 passing yards since week 8 last year (to Stafford, 208yds) so that would seem a bit unlikely! .

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Antonio Brown has a "long way to go" in learning the team's offense.

When asked if Brown would play Sunday against the Dolphins, Belichick deadpanned, "We'll do what's best for the team." The long-time coach said Brown has "worked hard" since joining the Patriots this week but noted that New England's offense bears little resemblance to the ones he left behind in Pittsburgh and Oakland. Brown has (at least to this point) avoided punishment in the wake of recent sexual assault allegations, though it sounds like he's not grasping the offense as quickly as the Patriots may have hoped. Of course, gleaning meaning from anything Belichick—who has made a career out of stonewalling reporters—says is probably a fool's errand. AB comes in at No. 13 in RotoPat's Week 2 receiver rankings.

to back up A11dAtP0w3R 's claim that Fitzpatrick has sucked so far....

---------

According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the Dolphins are seeking a first-round pick in trade talks for DB Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Unhappy with his role on a Dolphins squad circling the drain, Fitzpatrick reportedly wants out of Miami. The rebuilding Fins would be happy to accommodate him, but only at the right price. They're seeking a first-rounder for him, though that might be a tad ambitious. Per Raanan, a second-round pick would probably be a more realistic asking price for Fitzpatrick, a two-time college All-American with 4.46 wheels. Fitzpatrick has underwhelmed to this point in his career, though his versatility should make him appealing to teams in need of secondary help.

Dan Patrick reports Antonio Brown will not be placed on the commissioner's exempt list.

It means Brown will likely make his Patriots debut Sunday against his hometown Dolphins. Brown is being sued by his former trainer, who has accused him of sexual assault, but he's not facing criminal charges and the league has decided to let the situation play out before pursuing any punishment. Perhaps that will change once Brown's accuser sits down to present her case with NFL officials next week, but for now, AB appears to be in the clear. He may not see a full workload in his first game under Bill Belichick, but Brown should still be plenty productive against a team that didn't look NFL-caliber in Week 1.

Free agent WR Torrey Smith has announced his retirement after eight NFL seasons.

Smith went to training camp with the Panthers this summer but didn't make their final 53. One of the better deep threats in football during his prime, Smith will finish his career with 319 catches for 5,141 yards and 41 touchdowns over 119 games between Baltimore, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Carolina. The 30-year-old Maryland alum won two Super Bowl rings (one each with Baltimore and Philadelphia) and also cleared 1,000 yards receiving during his breakout 2013. Smith had been on the decline for some time and likely saw the writing on the wall after being let go by Carolina this summer. You can hear Smith's retirement statement in full by clicking the link below.
