He thinks they’ll play, he asks the question (that his own coaching team would ask) - and he suggests that those four players are so good that they’ll be squeezed into your team. But gee you’re right, the Media enjoy creating controversy.

And it's a valid point. There has to be concerns over Stephenson not playing at AFL level for 3 months and De Goey for a month, yet returning for a high pressure final. I'm sure Collingwood has it's worries about them too, even if it's only small.

I like DeGoey and natural talent needs no match fitness. If the scores are close in the last and DeGoey starts imposing himself I would suspect we will be playing the following week. Good luck Friday night. (What I mean by this post is it may be a tackle or a smother, but it’ll be a 1%er that DaGoey is involved in).

Not sure about that. We do have a few players that are also able to impose themselves and have done so regularly when the chips are down.

This isn't against you, just a general observation on things - I feel he's in a no win situation with this matter.

During the season when he does seemingly flat bat responses or doesn't give a straight up answer, it annoys people who think he's being smart or trying to be too smart.

When he now gives honest answers on an issue it again annoys people.

I think some people will find a reason to complain regardless

No doubt the bye has been a significant issue, but like a lot of things, it's all in the past now. We can choose to focus on the issues of the past, or we can address the issue, move forward and prepare for Collingwood. A bit like when the Hawks beat us in the 2013 PF with the Kennett curse still in play. It was hanging over their heads but it didn't stop them winning the game.

I think internally it's very important that the issue be addressed, and I'm sure they're doing this, but I would hope we're firmly focussed on Collingwood and nullifying their strengths, rather than getting too bogged down with the whole bye thing. It could become a serious mental hurdle if we're thinking about it too much. We just need to focus on playing our best footy and come up with a game plan that will give us the best chance of beating Collingwood.

Scott said, about the game after this Season's Bye, the players were surprised about their poor record. Scott said only about 33% of the players knew about it. I'm pretty sure it's not addressed properly.
