Think under Longy that Switto might fall out the 22. Tucker should return inside at some point if we grab Stephens or just from general improvement of Bewley. Robertson can be B22 if he gets drafted by us as well imo

Reckon we get Menadue as a DFA as well for depth with other notable depth players being McCarthy, Colyer, Valente, Meek, Carter, Banfield, Duman and Crowden
Thats a pretty good side too :)

You don't rate Hogan?

Probably should of stated that this is the B22 that I predict to see named come R1 all variables considered.
Fair enough. I think Jesse's doing pretty well btw. I know we've all been burnt with the whole Bennell injury crap but the signs look brighter for Hoges. He;s really confident he's going to be ok.

I hope so, but what's happening with him and the commentary around how his rehabilitation is progressing is literally the same story as this time last year during the off-season. "Yeah the foot is tracking better than expected" is what they tell us, until it inevitably gets injured again during the season. Easier to just think about him not playing :)

Looks about right but Blakely is a big omission. Pick 7, Pick 10, Henry and Sturt will probably be given opportunities.

Our two Category B rookies conveniently cover both spots you’ve put down xxxxx. Probably gives us extra flexibility in terms of our final two list spots, assuming picks 7 and 10 are mids.

Yeah, couldn't believe I was leaving out Blakely tbh. But would be harsh to put him ahead of Conca, Tucker or Brayshaw considering they all had the better seasons. Cerra potentially could make way for him but think we need to keep pumping games into him and start exposing him to more midfield minutes.

Peel is going to have a very good midfield if we don't have too many injuries. It actually looks like a really well balanced side, can see Peel doing very well.

And yeah, Thomas and Butters have their names all over those last two spots.

look forward to what they can deliver next year if lobb , hogan cox , Pearce and Taberner can stay fit with Aish and acre as new editions who knows maybe finals are a chance with Brayshaw and cerra another year in the game

Usung Wally’s as a base as I mostly agree;

HB: Wilson - Pearce - Ryan
C: Hill - Fyfe - Aish
HF: Walters - McCarthy - Sturt
FF: Lobb - Hogan - Henry

I prefer a smaller more mobile forward line. I’m predicting Duman to step up this year, so too Sturt and I think pick 7 will most likely be Robertson who will play year 1, so too Henry.

Backline picks itself. Solid AF.

Aish Pearce Logue
Ryan Hamling Wilson

Midfield is where it gets interesting... so many options. I really liked Lobb playing Ruck this year. I think he offers heaps more around the ground than Darcy. I'd Give Darcy a bit more time to develop which allows us to play an extra tall forward who knows that if he doesn't perform he'll be gone. Cerra and Hill running off the wings delivering lace out to the forward line (both are wasted in defence IMO) I'd rather Mundy rotating through defence. It's a young group but Mundy, Conca and Acres rotating off the bench and walters rotating from the forward line.

Lobb Fyfe Brayshaw
Hill Blakely Cerra

Hogan high CHF. Walters rotating through the midfield. Cox and Darcy itching for a spot, these blokes better kick some goalz.

Walters Hogan McCarthy
Matera Taberner Henry

Bench: Mundy, Acres, Conca, Pick 7

Mundy can play literally any position but I'd really love him to spend some time in the backline, intercept marking and directing traffic.
I'd love us to play Henry and pick 7 straight up ahead of Tucker who I do't really rate, or Colyer but round 1 is a long way away.

Depth: Duman, Hughes, Cox, Darcy, Colyer, Tucker, Banfield, Bewley, Swita, Pick 10.

I reckon that's a pretty solid side. Backline is solid and the forward line could light things up with a slightly more attacking gameplan. Lacks a bit of genuine A grade in the guts but who knows how much Cerra and Brayshaw will step up next year and we still have Mundy who can slot in anytime. And of course Stephen Hill is one of the most underrated players in AFL history. Tucker and Bewley could surprise me too.

Fingers crossed for an injury free pre season... Happy days.

The lack of sizzle that's been mentioned a few times on here, would surely mean Stephens is in our sights for our first pick...aggressive in both mind and body

Maybe Switta still fits into our best forwardline then.

I want to see switta to rotate middle and forward. He puts the most pressure acts on the opposition than prob any Other player on the list. It’s just he doesn’t kick many goals which may make him start on the bench or just miss the 22

Got to be careful we don't put out a side that doesn't have a bit of dash.

Good ball use covers for lack of speed - so it can be overrated, but we've lost probably our 2 quickest players in Langdon and B. Hill - and wings have a lot of space to be first to the loose ball/receive in the 6-6-6 set up.

Who do we have on our list that's really quick? Carter, Switkowski, Colyer, Sturt, Duman - Wilson and S Hill if they're not hampered by injury.

Most aren't established players but I think they'll always be in the mix when we're selecting for some extra zip to balance the side.

Imagine if Switta could turn into a goal a game player... He'd be seriously handy then.

I’m putting Lobb, Tabs and Hogan every day.
Tabs gave Hogan a foil, just needed to expand on that but injuries came.
Lobb as a second ruck will exploit sides.

What worries me is the lack of real small forward star power. Ideally we’d play a mosquito fleet but it’s all meh, same same.
Matera closer to goal is lethal but other then that he’s a liability. Schulz, Switta, Crowden otter good pressure but don’t have goal kicking ability.
Henry coming straight in isn’t going to happen. That’s tough on a 18 year old colt.

FB: Ryan, Hamling, Wilson
HB: Aish, Pearce, Logue
C: S. Hill (be amazing if he was fit), Acres, Tucker
HF: Walters, Tabs, Lobb
FF: Switta, Hogan, Mundy
R: Darcy, Fyfe, Blakely

Bench: McCarthy, Brayshaw, Cerra, Conca
Emergency: Banfield, Crowden, Duman

Logue can be a swing man. Play defence and forward. Would be bloody useful inside.
Blakely, Acres and Aish to actually play their natural roles would go a long way to making Freo successful.
