Having already traded next year's second (for Aliir Aliir) I don't think we're allowed to trade next year's first, even if we wanted to.
We have to get another 2021 1st round pick in before we are allowed to trade out our 2021 1st round pick, once we traded out our 2021 2nd round pick.

Why? what is wrong with her? I actually rate her much more than most of the other Draft analysers!

Eh? How did you construe what I wrote as a criticism of Emma? Quite the opposite - her phantom draft was the one everyone used to hang out for. So well regarded was she that GWS snapped her up as a recruitment officer.

Yep. Sorry if I misread your post as I corresponded it to the first line of the post you replied to, which was ...
"Don't think he knows what hes talking about to be honest."

Didn't know Emma Quayle works as a recruiter for the Giants.
I’ve seen her at a lot of games with her giants buddies. She has had a good track record for a long time so getting a gig at the Giants was well deserved.

Is there any realistic prospect of us putting in a bid for Borlase? Does it just depend how much we have to spend on matching Jones?
If Jones is bid on between pick 10-15 reckon we might have a crack at him with our pick 59 after it might become pick 46ish and no one has bid on Schofield.

SYDNEY, Collingwood, Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs are among the clubs who have been given a boost by a rule change on the eve of the NAB AFL Draft.

Clubs have been informed that a significant change has been applied to this year's bidding system in light of the reduction in list sizes and the trading of future picks last year.

Under normal AFL rules, clubs who are matching bids for northern Academy, Next Generation Academy and father-son players are only allowed to use draft points from the amount of picks that is equal to the number of their available list spots.

This has been to stop clubs from stockpiling late draft picks with the intention of only using them to pay for highly rated draftees, even if they had more picks at the draft than they had list spots available, which was an early loophole of the live bidding system.

But clubs will not be bound by that rule at next month's national draft after the League gave clearance for clubs to use points from draft picks even if they are not going to use the selections to draft players.

Where in previous years the Power would have only been able to use points from the picks commensurate to how many list spots the club had available, this year they could essentially grab their two linked players and use the rest of their draft hand to help cover the points cost.

Wot. We benefit from something? That’s refreshing.

I think we had enough list spots for our picks anyway didn’t we?

Maybe this allows us some manoeuvring with our picks on draft day with some trades but I don’t see this as a big help to us really.
We dont need to wait til draft day. We can trade picks now

If I was the Crows, I would be looking at those Essendon picks. I would seriously consider trading Pick 1, 22 and 23 for 6,7,8. Or try something with next years first included.

That would give them picks 6,7,8 and 9.

Wonder if that is something Essendon would consider.
