This is Part 1

The thread is continued in part 2:

Can't see the club proclaiming said trade without having an in principle agreement ..
We will get paid well for this champions.
yeah we'll have some form of in principle agreement, doesn't necessarily mean that we'll be paid well for it though

Can’t see us getting any more than their pick 39 tbh
They don’t have pick 39 - it is 43.

Listening to Peter Bell sounds like a trade has been agreed and as such whilst they had a brief discussion with a number of clubs involving Cameron and Hogan the request for Jordan Clark will put that on the back burner for now.

It really has to be a trade directly between GWS and Freo. I’m thinking either the following:
- Straight swap for pick 30 (compo pick GWS received for Corr); or something that improves draft position like
- Hogan, 12, 31 > 10, 30, 43, 73 (value around 35/36 - noting that pick 73 will move up quite a bit prior to draft night and bring that value close to the 30/31 range)

If it is the straight swap for 30 - I could see us then package 30 & 31 to get up into the late 1st round.

I reckon Lloyd Meek has escaped a lot of scrutiny in this discussion around our tall options. We are heading into his 4th year now. He hasn’t played a game yet. I think (based on what other posters are saying) that he’s a pure ruck only, basically another version of Sean Darcy. What is the long term strategy for him? After 4 years on the list the club must be visualising that he will play a role in the team in the future. But where exactly? A back up option to Darcy only to be used in emergencies? Could he be moulded into a ruck/forward?
it would be poor list management if he was delisted at the end of next season because we don’t see a role for him beyond just being a back up to Darcy..
Lloyd has been on the cusp of a debut and then injured at the wrong time. He's quite highly rated inside the club, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't debut at some point in 2021.

Not really going to help us kick more than 8 goals a game though?
Our ball movement inside fifty will be better, our inside fifties are way down on league averages. We don't win enough of the ball at stoppages and we don't put it inside fifty enough, a good winger will help that. Look at how good Aish is putting the ball inside fifty.

A good winger, Young back in the half back line kicking long to him, with a bigger bodied midfielder at the stoppages to win it out. We do better

It’s an absolute calamity that we turned down Ben King for this bloke. And are left with sweet fu** all after 2 years. Horrendous is the only word to describe this shambles.
Its the first decision that was terrible. Everything after that is just trying to make the best of an awful situation.

Everybody now gets to sweat on every B.King contract so that when he goes back to Victoria everyone can say, "see I told you he would leave".

I'm more sweating that Taberner doesn't get injured and leave us with a Lobb solo KPF show.

Do trade radio thinks we need a small forward ahaha

These guys are idiots. I think moving Hogan on so casually means we're going to try and set-up something with our abundance of small forwards, especially if we don't bring someone back in as a direct replacement.

Does it seem odd we have agreed with GWS prior to the TP even starting? My thinking would be it would have to be a first to be accepted this early especially with multiple interested parties.

Or there are several underlying issues no one knows about.
I don't think it's too odd. My take is that they've agreed to do the deal, just not what the deal is. As GWS are negotiating with Geelong, their position isn't settled yet and so both party's have agreed to wait and see how things unfold for GWS. I would also add that it would be likely (IMO) that we have offered our 'services' to enable the GWS/Geelong trade to eventuate i.e. throwing our hat in the ring for a 3 way trade if needed. IMO we'll either get Clark out of Geelong or picks out of GWS.

Anyway I think I need a bit of time to digest how much this is going to screw us moving forward. I'll leave the glee seekers to it for a bit
