With each press snippet that comes out of GWS, makes me more anxious about the whole Jacobs situation. Thinking I may just restructure and get a better ruckman in so I’m not worrying about his selection each week.

Thoughts on the Jacobs situation?

Personal view is that I'd love GWS to play with Jacobs and Mummy. Imagine how slow they would be.....

I can't see it happening, they are liabilities anywhere else but the ruck. But if that's the way they go - I'd be steering well clear....

I wouldn't read too much into it. Did you see Mumford play last year?

Honestly i would stay away from him if i was you. His form last year was really really poor. Not the same guy of yester years

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking! May have a play with my team and see what I can come up with. I’d be happy to roll with O’Brien

Grundy and R'OB here....

Man obrien is an absolute legend. If u watched his games last year he is a must have. I havent been this sure of a player for a while. He is hungry and has everything to prove.
Different strokes. I feel the complete opposite about his fantasy output this year. That's fantasy for you though :drunk:😂

I agree Grundy is maxed on price, I'm just keeping him so I have a captain option each week

Definitely this. Grundy not really value until you factor in:
- Ruck is an awful position to play games with. That said, getting ROB early at R2 proved to be a car winning move last year;
- It's a buy one get one free with buying Grundy. x2 with the big C is invaluable.

Without checking my numbers I can almost guarantee my average captain score from last year was less than what Grundy averaged.

It'll take a lot for me to move the big C off grundy at any point this year.

My R2 thoughts have basically narrowed too:
Patton (cheap option) Vs ROB/Gawn (lock and leave option).

Jacobs/Lycett/Marshall/NicNat are all out and all come with risks such that I think I'd take the cheapest risk out (Patton) if I go that option.

Wasted money. His votes will drop 10% due to relocation. He was a Geelong poster boy and umps love that.

Check Dangerfield's votes increase after he went to Geleong, gained another 5 or so per year, and had very similar years in terms of output and wins

Kellys votes will increase after he goes to the Eagles too ;)
$15 to 1 is reasonable value before the year starts for a guy who is almost guaranteed to be in the top 10 in voting. Maybe even top 5.

Yeah I’ve got Patton in my forward line at the moment so could just swap him in there, but is that too cheap to start as a R2

Stef is getting too old and has burned me way way too many times. Anyone know a place we can see lycetts fantasy score round by round. Would love to compare how he fared against the big dogs while bei g sole ruckman.

I've just done the same, dropped my F3 (who was my most tenatitve in) down for an expensive rook and upgraded Jacobs to Gawn. Looks very good with the double barrel rucks but the value for Jacobs is very good if he plays sole ruck. Have to wait and see.

A few days ago I would say yes, too cheap for R2.

But after seeing last year's winner threw ROB into R2 really early... I'm thinking its possible. Then prioritise him as your first trade out (up to Gawn if he drops).

The only thing that scares me is a late "general soreness" omission from Patton. Ideally I'd like a backup in place on the bench but Naismith is too expensive. If a $170k option presents themselves as insurance then I'll be all in on Patton I reckon.

Just on Kelly - statistically, WCE have had a fair run with the umpires (so have my side lately) in the West for a long time. There is potential for him to increase his scoring just due to this factor alone.... :p
As an eagles fan I would say that we did have a good run prior to last year when the media mentioned it every week.

Last year in 11 home games eagles won the free kick count in 5 games and lost it in 6 games. And over the year were awarded 6 less free kicks than their opposition at home Optus stadium games.

Do people actually think Mummy will get a game? Personally I think he is no chance unless sauce goes down injured. He was horrendous last year outside of 1-2 games early on in the season. He's cooked. Jacobs isn't going to star but if he can average 80, which isn't out of the realms of possibility, then he should rise enough and make some coin to give us a look at the other rucks available. My thinking is purely because Gawn is a wait and see currently with his injury. ROB should be top 3-4. Marshall also has shown in that last Marsh game that he can still hit those heights. But I can't see any of them rising a great deal in price. Seems fairly safe to me to play that waiting game.

Both Jacobs/Naismith I see as decent starting options for that look and see. Although with Naismith you'd probably want a back up plan with someone like Ceglar in your forwards. He would be more of a money making option with the ability to move Cegs to the ruck and up to that clear R2 - if needed of course as I can see Cegs averaging around 100 IF he has that same role as the back end of last year and is sole ruck. Would allow Naismith to be traded down to a cash cow or up to a premium forward down the track. Still risky but another layer to the rucks this year

Hey all. Been on hiatus for a bit so it's my first post in here for the year and hope everyone is trucking along nicely - both on and off the fantasy playing field. Looks like we've retained the usual suspects plus added a few more to the forum which is awesome. Here's to another year of frustration and subpar productivity at work.

Any interest in a Draft League mate ?? Few spots left....

Has anyone else got Naismith at R3? The way I see it is that selecting Naismith means a) I'm behind everyone else who selects a bottom priced ruck by $114k to start and b) it'll cost me a trade to downgrade him. Positive is he'll get close to $400k by round 6, giving me $200k+ to play with. Plus there's bench cover. Plus I have say six weeks to choose who the best bottom priced ruck option is. He'll average similar to higher priced midfield rookies like Stephens, Anderson or Serong, similar price. I'm doing it.

If Mummy isn't named in rd1 then Sauce should be very popular. Apparently hasn't missed a training session and having a great pre-season. When he rucked solo last year he averaged mid 80s from memory. I like ROB but depends a bit on whether Frampton and the situation with Gawn.

Over the last two years when solo-rucking, Ceglar has averaged 86. 100 is a massive stretch but if you think he can average that then he should be one of your first picked.
