im looking for players i believe can avg 105 - 110+

i always end up with 12-13 in my variations.

would love to find one that is a solid 13.
Don't understand why you'd get rid of Rowell and that forward line is horrible

Been playing around with a full MPM side and come up with this monstrosity.....sad thing is that it is looking appealing given current rookie situation :(

Not such a monstrosity. We all could have that structure if enough cheap rookies don't get selected.
The only suggestion I would make would be to make Naismith your R2 and swap Jacobs for Comben, giving you a late playing, cheap VC loophole player. That would give you a lot of extra cash allowing you to strengthen up your forward line by maybe swapping Brayshaw to Whitfield.

The 'No Stephen Hill' edition with 15 potential keeps (if you include Roberton in that) and a projected round 1 score of 1908. This current line up is my biggest source of optimism so far. A couple of late rookie performances from Starcevich, Robertson, Watson and Sharp just doing enough to give a bit of hope for some coverage/cash gen.

Comfortably finding this the most difficult year to pick a team with any confidence. Not that my 'confident' teams are good, but really just struggling to pick players I like in the forwards and defence.

Essentially all I can sit with it's a combo of 5 of Macrae/Neale/Cripps/Fyfe/Kelly/Dunkley/Bont/Oliver (as most years, picking 5 of the 8-10 premos, bit of luck comes into it), Whitfield and Martin up forward, and Gawndy.

Everywhere else (F3-F4, defenders, mid pricers v rookies) I just can't find a grouping that pleases me.

Only Grundy is over 700k so i assume you counted Gawn as 700k+ too? Im coming around to the idea of starting with a large sum in the bank but at the moment ive decided to spend up on expensive rookies with loads of DPP so that i have lots of flexibility before the team sheets are released. My backline consists of 4 players between 400k and 485k and my forwards have 3 between 400 and 450k. Then my midfield has 4 players between 500k and 630k

I did this last year, by the time it became useful I was well down. There were some Other picks that didn't help but certainly didn't gain any benefit by having 300k-ish in the bank.

Excellent side! You’ll be off to a flyer assuming those basement rookies on field can hold their spots and score ok.

The rookies are the concern for sure. A couple of contingency plans are in place depending on round 1 selections.
Roberton's heart and Jackie Stevens calves next.

Yet another team. Haha.

Don't know if I have the balls to go with this midfield but it bats 6 deep.

Only a few rookies on the ground too (Rowell, Pickett, Bonnar)

I'll probably end up going back to 4 uber mid premos, Steven at M5 and Green at M6.

Loving my backs and forwards now. :moustache:

**** man, you’re really behind the eight ball. Most of us were here in December.

version #244

outside of dusty and whitfield theres no one else i want in my fwd line. hence the stacked backline.

had to downgrade neale to danger and macrae to bont which im not happy about.

no roberton because he is someone youll just have to upgrade him eventually anyway. hence the scavenging of funds to upgrade him to docherty.

the forward line is a shambles but outside of heeney theres isnt anyone im confident on being top 10 by seasons end just yet. if i downgrade the rucks i can upgrade the forward line which im really not willing to do.

13 keepers in this side which im liking

round 1 needs to start already so this shambles can end.
Cumming > Ash

I reckon Bonar and Rankine will play round 1 if they are fit.

Close I'm not really sure, just have him on mid bench due to his DPP.

Xeri has been awesome in the pre season but yeah North might be too top heavy with him, Goldy and Brown.

Whitfield and Dusty due to how much they are really impact on filling out F4-F6 with decent options imo.
Get on the Dawson train kenty. It’ll be like seagull all over again. You’ll spend all year bitching about him and how to get him in

Does look better with Gawn, Whitfield and Dusty in their imo but it's just F4-F6 and M5 to an extent that suffers as a result with those 3 big fish in the side.
Dusty to Dawson

You know how much I love bin as a SC option
