Fair enough,I would argue that 2 unproven 4th year players that have never averaged 90+ before are not "definite keepers".
22 for average 90 started at 422k (win)Ryan at D1 does not look right at all. Laird at a very similar price has more consistent scoring and a higher floor. Whereas over the last two seasons Ryan has 12 scores of 80 or below. A burn man and I'm one who has been.
Fair enough,
I'm picking them thinking they will be.
Even if Houston and Greenwood end up averaging 85 which I definitely think is unders - I probably wouldn't be trading them.
coming around to the 4 premo mid setup + DPP mid pricer.
I am not confident in the Rookie pool this year.
sure we will have enough in round 1, but will they stay in the team??
at least if I go with a bunch of mid price guys to start I can trade down to a rookie who has been solid and should hold his spot.
..but if the rooks dry up early we will be stuffed.
not all the mid pricers are breakout contenders. some just need to get back to their best(or close to) in Dev/Robo/Doc/Steven.
would rather waste trades trading down than have to scramble each week to fill a team and deal with rooks who get dropped after 2 games.
a lot to happen before round 1 but at the moment I don't want any more than 6 rooks on field max..
hope I'm wrong but this could be the year of the mid pricers.
I disagree, each year there are several players that average 20+ points over their starting price. Some of those make the leap to top 5-10 in their respective position/s. It is hard to pick them but if you do, you will save trades, add to your 'premium count' and gain points on those going vanilla guns n rookies. Yes, it is hard but just because a player is priced somewhere in between premium and rookie price doesnt mean they should be disregarded. One thing you have to be good at when going with midd-pricers is jumping off the duds quickly and downgrading to the rookies you've missed. 30 trades is plenty, you can afford 2 dud mid-pricers as long as you get rid of them early and jump on the gun rookies you missed. Then if you keep the other mid-pricers that turn into guns you will effectively save those 2 trades later in the season. Yes, if you pick loads of dud mid-pricers you will lose out...just like if you pick rookies that turn out to be duds.If you don't have at least 12 Keepers on field rd1, you're screwed. Mid pricers cost you premiums, trades & In the long run, points.
I'm so sick of wasting trades on rookie corrections, even later in the season when I'm stuck with some spud who is sitting at $160kIf you don't have at least 12 Keepers on field rd1, you're screwed. Mid pricers cost you premiums, trades & In the long run, points.

I just had a look at the last team you posted, of the 7 rookies you have on field, I reckon you'll be lucky to get 4 or 5 picked in round 1 (and that includes Rowell and Pickett, who are guarantees)
In both of the last 2 seasons I started with 8 Premo "keepers" & 8 "mid-pricers" & still had trades left for the later rounds. Finished 558 & 538.
non playing rooks can cost you too!If you don't have at least 12 Keepers on field rd1, you're screwed. Mid pricers cost you premiums, trades & In the long run, points.
I think it's extra bad this year, but we'll know a lot more after Marsh #2. I hope I'm wrong!Rookies are all place holders. Every year there's panic 3 weeks out that there won't be enough rookies. There always is. Absolutely they're a gamble, but hey, that's super coach.
Which mid pricers?

Every year is a good year for mid pricers
I'm backing you ro finish 518 this year.In both of the last 2 seasons I started with 8 Premo "keepers" & 8 "mid-pricers" & still had trades left for the later rounds. Finished 558 & 538.
I don’t hate it, don’t think I can roll with that many midpricers personally tho.
I don't see the problem myself except maybe English R2 and Green for Jack StevenI'm leaving this thread for a week look what you all made me do to my team with all the midprice talk
