Going with mid priced defenders and forwards so I only need to field 2 fwd rookies.

My biggest debate at the moment is whether to go Marshall and Mitchell or Gawn and McCluggage?

You really think 6 mid pricers are going to but out to premium players?

Marshall won't play a lone hand as ruck this year. He'll lose some points with Ryder in team.

Which of the premium defenders and forwards are must haves then? None of them are overly tempting beyond Whitfield and being able to field one less forward rookie is always appreciated.

I know Marshall won't play sole ruck but from everything I have seen from training, he will still be the starting ruckman so I'm weighing up whether the 100k cheaper for him that I can put into a uber premium midfielder is worth it over the extra money for Gawn coming back from and a cheaper M5.

Injury cloud as well. The moment he left the field he became a hard no. Not starting any suspect players this year no matter what.
Left the field in the origin match?

I thought he has an achilles flare up but then played the Origin match so assumed he was fine?

Well that's the great unknown isn't it? Who will be the top 6.

There's a few safe options but I think everyone's looking for value in their initial setup. Whitfield & Dusty as F1 & F2 are a little different in that I think they'll be standouts in that position. Not much value but rock solid returns.

Lloyd, Williams, Houli, Hurn, look safe bets in defence.... But not a lot of value about them. Better to grab them after they drop in price. Throw a blanket over another 12 or more at 1round $500k. The returning players present a lot of value but also carry the most risk.

Up fwd it's even worse..... Returning players, role changes, club changes make the F3 & F4 worse than ever. Walters should make top 6 but again, no value. He'll stink one up for sure so pounce then. But Greenwood, Petracca, Heeney, De Goey, Ebert, Rozee, Papley, Parish, Dawson, Greene all look likely. Then throw in Smith & Steven just to really screw with your head.

No rucks play 100% game time they need a chop out from other players. Marshall will probably score higher because of Ryder instead of coming off completely buggered he might get a rest forward a few times a match and snag a couple of cheap goals.
