Brennan Cox would be an easy get you'd think. But as I've said last trade period - comes with plenty of off field problems.

Trading Ladhams is crazy. He’s far too talented.

Trading Ladhams *just for picks*, as Westhoff approaches retirement and Dix turns 30, while neither Mitch nor Todd never mind Sam are truly established would be ... criminally, burn-down-Alberton level stupid.

Watching Brennan Cox tonight as a possible key position defender
Profile says 195cm 97kg which certainly makes him more key size than Clurey and Jonas
At 22yo would be perfect age profile
Freo also have Hamlin, Logue and Pearce, so it may be possible to shake Cox free but he will now come at a cost after his better performances this year.

Speaking of which, Hamling apparently wants out of Freo due to not being happy with their management of his injuries. Would be a more proven option than Cox and is a premiership player.

decent defender but don't see him as a big enough upgrade on any one of our 3 defenders and not sure if he would come here to be depth.

Hamling is definitely a better footballer than Clurey or McKenzie.

Wanted titch when he was available, wanted gola a year ago, still want zach merret. Worpel is another in the same bracket

Not a big body, but Abraham Ankers is stiff not to have been given an opportunity. Small and undersized, but you just know he would make a fair fist of it if given a sniff! Would add pace to our Midfield group instantly, disposal hurts but well worth a punt if we are adding Jones, Key Defender and Scofield.

We traded Howard for, allegedly, being average by foot and not meeting the needs of the side, despite him being our only tall defender over 193cm.

McKenzie has shown that defenders can be found readily, as long as they play to the sides needs.

Jonas is best as the leader 2nd, 3rd tall and probably has a good 2-4 years left going by other players in a similar role. McKenzie likewise that 2nd or 3rd tall but who knows how long he has.

Clurey has been our least consistent defender this year. He is played as the number one defender, ie standing Hawkins, but really is best when he takes the number two forward. If Grundy was ready now, who comes out of the side? Clurey would have trade capital and could help facilitate other trades. Our most pressing need is another strong mid, we can find a tall defender, but if Clurey could help net us a Perryman, Hopper, Dow, etc, then that’s a huge gain.

Dow? No thanks...

What is Charlie out of contact with? His car? Reality? His shaving kit? Victorian journos looking for clickbait?
