Draft picks are over rated.Pick #1 for ladhams.
Robbie Tarrant would be a great fit for us. He shouldn’t cost a lot in a trade and unlike Talia offers intercept marking and rebound. At 32 next year we’d want to be sure we are a real contender. I think if we go down that path we are almost obliged to chase Zac Williams to add some zip to the midfield at the same time.Need a brute tall defender. Neither Clurey or McKenzie are that type of player. Dont think that keeping Howard would have been the answer either. He doesn't have the 1v1 physical strength against the monster key forwards either.
My preference would be to go after Darcy Moore. But if you can't get him, I wouldn't be against acquiring a vet with a year or two left in them. Someone like James Frawley or Robbie Tarrant for instance. Both are valuable players at their current clubs but clearly won't be part of their respective clubs' next premiership window. That type of player imo is the mold we should be targeting this off season.
I am not a fan of going to the draft in this instance because we need a plug and play guy right now, not someone who can be ready for meaningful games in 2-3 years.

We’ve probably got a year (2 at absolute best) of prime Boak and Dixon left so why not?
Woodcock is looking promising, We have Williams to bring in up forward. Those two can free up Butters and Rozee for more midfield time.Regardless of needing a tall defender, we need more class in the midfield. Whether Zac Williams is the answer there I'm not sure. I think that in the event we can't get a true A grade speedy mid, then I would continue to add some young small forwards and increase the midfield time for Rozee and Butters.
it didn't quite work years ago, but we should flat out target speed in this upcoming draft!Woodcock is looking promising, We have Williams to bring in up forward. Those two can free up Butters and Rozee for more midfield time.
Really don’t mind the Robbie Tarrant idea.Robbie Tarrant would be a great fit for us. He shouldn’t cost a lot in a trade and unlike Talia offers intercept marking and rebound. Doesn’t need to play every week and probably doesn’t want to play every week.
Easy sell to him, given North won’t want him.
Costs us minimal draft pick.
Wage will not be much either.
???Petty could give is 10 more years.
NupSo do we go after polec at half what it cost north and them paying some of his salary? Haha
I would still like to know what Phil Davis would cost us.
We need a key back for now, Pasini or Grundy or whoever we draft are gonna take years, and that's if they actually come good.

It might be a savvy but potentially unpopular move to trade Ladhams while he holds high value, if we have made a judgment call that the keys will eventually be handed to Hayes. Smart, high performing clubs make these sort of moves over time. (It could also be applied vice versa)
Deciding to hold on to all three isn’t a bad outcome either. We can find resources elsewhere to fix up gaps in the list.
Get a 195+cms KPD build like a brick shithouse and has decent speed. Sick of having no one there for years.
One of those is not the same as the others. Farrell has a long way to go to convince me of anything. One good game in 7. Time for him to show some attack on the ball and intensity.Nup
With Amon Duursma Farrell and Bergman we have enough wingmen
