I like the idea of giving maters a go
Could change his fortunes around like mckenzie
He’d come cheap so would be worth a punt I think
And if it works would free up Rozee and butters to get that midfield time

I'd be open to recruiting Daw as a potential tall defender.
He's a massive unit, fast and when switched to defence appeared to thrive.
His journey and trials has also impacted the Sudanese community and as a role model, he has highlighted pathways into AFL.
Lack of consistency, often associated with injuries, would be a concern. Despite his size, his one on one work also needs improving.
Anyone else think he's worth a punt?

Pass, I see him like an older version if Wylie and with smaller list sizes next year I would much prefer to pick up someone with potential in their mid twenties and see if they can be developed under Ports system.

I’d be concerned about moving Majak away from his current support network. I would also be concerned about life after football for Majak and other issues he may be dealing with on a personal level. I think he’s only an average footballer at the back end of his career and I wouldn’t be moving him interstate to attempt to further his playing days. Could not imagine Port giving it any consideration.

Am I the only one who would trade Marshall for Ben brown in an instant. A target to take pressure of Dixon who can actually kick straight? There's 100 goals a year (in a normal year) between them and he's only 27.

I have a feeling Ben Brown would struggle as anything but the #1 target in a forward line. I'd only be looking at him if I was a club like Collingwood, Essendon etc without any star KPF's for him to compete against. I find it hard to see Brown and Dixon coexisting.

Replace Brown with somebody like Jack Gunston on the other hand, and as much as I'm a Marshall fan I'd have to think about it.

Good old fashioned footballer , real warrior , bit old but still handy pick up. Couple of years in him for somebody.
You’d think he fills a need at Essendon and Carlton.

They’re going nuclear option which is a massive gamble given the AFL have been looking to relocate them on and off for the better part of a decade.

Ben Brown is probably better suited to marking the ball on a lead while the ball is coming out of the back half.

Our game is based on minimising the times we have to get the ball from our back half to inside 50.

I also don't think he's suited to having the ball plonked on his head during repeat entries.

His pressure to keep the ball inside our 50 isn't as good as what we have already.

He's probably better suited to a team who doesn't have good talls (Collingwood?) or get stuck in their back half alot and transition into space he can lead into.

Collingwood defender Matthew Scharenberg (191cm) is reportedly considering a move home to South Australia at year’s end.

The 25-year-old has struggled to cement a place in Collingwood’s senior side, with the former No. 6 draft pick managing just three games so far this season.

A report in the Herald Sun says Scharenberg’s family ties in South Australia, when coupled with the Adelaide Crows’ desire to rejuvenate their list, could lead to him joining the club at year’s end.

I just don't get the Brad Crouch love, if he is a Ollie replacement, fine. But I think is Ollie is staying, its been a roller coaster, but that's over. Rocky/Ebert replacement, looks solid. But...

Houston to the midfield needs to happen (i'd be pissed if I was him) and DBJ should also be in the conversation. Importantly they get the ball and use it well. BC, is a clanger king, but to be fair when you are working in the engine room, in a bad side, that's what happens.

I hate to say it, if we did need anything, its half back flankers.

Not convinced with our small forwards (too narrowed in skillset and lack of defensive pressure). Solid small forwards are easy to get, comparatively. I think a change of scenery works well for small forwards.

Why does Houston need to be moved to the midfield? He had a decent run at it last year, but this year his stints in the middle were average at best. When he's been in the backline this year he has been very good. His game against Collingwood where he was a brick wall intercepting everything coming across half back was one of the best readings of the play we will see by any defender all season. That is worth far more than what he can provide in midfield.

We're not getting Ben Brown because Ben Brown isn't as good as the forwards we already have.

I think we should get Ben Brown and call him Roller.

Plus he's a vegan.
