Apparently essendons first to Five year players have now officially started preseason training

is our official start date still 22 Nov? For this age group
Maybe the club has given the players an extra two weeks holiday before they start smashing the preseason, probably due to covid and not being able to travel or see their families in the past 2 years.
Obviously they are all doing extra work in their own time.
I'm with you though, I'm pretty sure that in previous years the 1-4 years players the players have returned to practice 3-4 weeks before the rest of the team which returned the first week in december.

The one ITK insight I get into the club these days is in relation to Hally and from all reports he is a ****ing legend. He and his family's work with Tarryn Thomas has been tremendous in helping him grow into the man and player he is becoming.
Always been a massively down to earth bloke. One of the safest pair of hands to put Tarryn's development as a professional in.

He & Cross are going to take them to new areas this preseason.

LFG.

As much as I loved Jonah, Kev and Crossy seem to have worked on a physique and style for themselves that's more suited to an AFL player.
It will be interesting to see if their approaches are markedly different to what Jonah did.

Who has the most to gain from a really big one preseason? Taylor and Spicer could both make some big gains on the field if they increase their strength. I wonder what a fitter, stronger Ford looks like on game day.

According to AFL.com.au it is Comben

Feeling the heat: Who needs a big pre-season at your club? (afl.com.au)

If anyone deserves a bit of luck, it's Charlie Comben. The athletic key forward could be the missing piece in North Melbourne's attack, but needs to get fit first. After overcoming a seemingly never-ending series of stress fractures, Comben made his debut in round 22 but broke his collarbone at training the next week. The 199cm Comben needs to spend the pre-season getting his body right ahead of the 2022 season, as he could be crucial to the Kangaroos' rebuild. North's trajectory was heading upwards late last year, and the addition of Comben to the forward line will provide a bit of relief for Nick Larkey, who is currently shouldering the majority of the burden. After a lacklustre season, there are plenty of North players who should be champing at the bit to take their game to a new level. The departure of key defender Robbie Tarrant means Josh Walker and Aidan Corr will likely play a bigger role in defence, while athletic defender Kyron Hayden needs to find some continuity after signing a one-year deal in September. Judging by their unwillingness to compromise on a trade deal, ruck/forward Tristan Xerri is clearly highly rated by the Roos, however the off-season addition of Callum Coleman-Jones and the incredible endurance of veteran ruck Todd Goldstein means Xerri will have to work very hard indeed if he is to feature regularly at a senior level. – Sophie Welsh

Taylor, Scott and spicer need to put on size asap. The first 2 are in danger of getting left behind.

I was thinking about which of our players were out of excuses and at a crossroad but then I remembered they had a good season like Hall, Ziebell and Walker or they were delisted like Dumont and Atley.

Lazz has been the most impressive first year player this off season so far. The f*ck is powell doing.

Maybe Tom doesn’t feel the need to post on social media about every weight that he lifts or running session he completes.

I have a bit of ITK when it comes to Powelly and I'm told he's been spending a LOT of time exercising, for him, the only muscle which counts. That's correct, he's been at the local Newspower buying all the crossword books he can find, training that big beautiful brain

He should be cross-training. If there aren't a couple of Sudoku's and a word find in there he is taking the piss. 👎
