Let’s stick with a basic rule for this thread, that it’s for draft watch and discussion only.

It’s not for trade hypotheticals, who you think needs to be delisted or traded, how many games you think we will win, some other team will win, how many picks you want in the 1st round or discussion of current HFC players.

It’s about youngsters who are eligible for the draft in 2021.

Key dates to look out for:
  • NAB AFL Draft Combine: TBC
  • NAB AFL Draft: Wednesday November 24 - Thursday November 25
  • NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts: Friday November 26

Looks fantastic until he kicks it
That was my initial thought too. Goater looks like he rushes his kicking motion which leads to serious inconsistency in the way it comes off the boot. CJ looked similar but dramatically improved his kicking from his draft year to now, so we have real proof it can be done (CJ's kicking was much, much worse).

I'm intrigued by Goater as an option if we jag a pick in the teens.

The last thing we need is a draftee that can’t hit a target.
Yes, that is not a good sign, I might quietly go off Goater. I wonder what is the knock on Z Taylor compared to Ward, he is not expected to till about pick 25. I wonder whether Knevitt is better kick, if we go Ward first, probably a tall midfielder will be better with our second pick, even then can still go for a small forward, tall KPP.

There are a few, Skinner, Leek Alleer, Charlie Dean and Blake Schlensog. They are all tall, good marks, mobile and young. Skinner is the oldest at 24 the rest are 20-21. We definitely need another big fellow down back to eventually replace Hartigan. All of them are taller than Hartigan. Skinner, Dean and Schlensog all look ready to go. Alleer might need a bit of time at Box hill, but has tremendous upside. Any one of them would be a good get with a late pick or Rookie spot and keep our earlier picks for quality midfielders.
Charlie Dean has won the VFL's Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal. Recruited to Willy by Andy Collins and grew up playing with Tom Collins, Andy's son.

The right club can easily fix that. His ability to win a contested footy and use his agility to spin out of trouble is first class. He then attempts to kick it as quickly as he wove the magic to get free however.

He literally just needs to take the extra second to fully balance himself before pulling the trigger by foot. His mechanics seem fine. Jackson Macrae was similar in his draft year if I recall correctly and he is very good by foot for a bloke who wins as much footy around the contest as he does.

Petracca is great at the spin and balance before kicking and getting complete penetration and accuracy. He's had to work on it though.

We can confirm that we have missed some data from the Draft Combine events that were held in Bendigo for Vic Country invitees last Friday...
*Mitch Knevitt ran 2.976 seconds for the 20-metre sprint.
This was the 2nd fastest of the day! Well done Mitch 👏

This was missed I believe. Means Knevitt ran the second quickest 20m and also ran a 6:18 2km time-trial. Is a 193cm contested ball-winning inside mid.

I hope he is right in our mix at 21. Yes, he can kick better than Goater ;)
That is the question I had before, it means Knevitt and Z Taylor could potentially be available for our picks in the 20s. I wonder whether there is a knock on Z Taylor, seems to have similar attributes to Ward, footy smarts, good kicking skills, had enough possessions, short sized midfielder. There is certainly enough choice for midfielder(s) with the picks we hold.
