Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

no more big name blow ins

lets draft our next stars - organic build please + targeting emerging fringe talent for cheap.

Agreed!

Get big name blow ins when we need them to go from contending for it, to winning it.

Regenerate the list over the next 3 years, chopping dead wood and trade bait players that are not in the next flag each season (not all at once) and bringing in talent via the draft.

Secure new young talent and existing young talent via front loading contracts as we should have lots spare.

Do we try and turn Picks 20 and 21 or whatever it is into a mid 1st ? Or do we take both those picks to the draft ? If we can trade a Mitchell or something for another 1st it would be quality going into this draft with 3 firsts or 4 picks inside 25.
I think we'd probably benefit from taking one or two of them to the draft if we can offload one of our big names for a first. Four picks in the top 25~ is huge for us and technically allows us to cover more holes in one go.
Would love for us to somehow manage 4 first rounders over the next two years and as many second rounders. Unless we can bring in established youth (like Cerra) I'd want us to only increase quantity.

I call this the in Wright we trust hypothesis.

Trade whatever it takes to get GWS’s first pick (tied to Collingwood).
Trade 21, 22 to Collingwood for a future first. We also do not bid on Daicos.

Recruit a FA this year - ??
Recruit a FA next year - Moore

In yesterdays game Cerra lasered a 50m bullet that hit the leading Docker in space 20m out from goal.
The best part was the kick forced his teamate into the space through the zone.

If thats his strength , well we need that . Most teams need that and want it.

We would be silly not to look at him and make a decent offer imo.

In relation to the discussed potential Cerra trade - pick 2 is really pick 3.

The top two talents have completely separated themselves from the rest of the pack, and if we have pick 2 we aren't getting either of them.

Don’t think this is the right view to be taking so early on. There’s still plenty of games + championships for players to announce themselves. There’s every chance one or two players can bridge that gap by seasons end.

* as it stands.

But based on what all the draft watchers and recruiters are saying - Horne and Daicos are simply a class apart. Hard to see anyone closing that perceived gap.

Kids can improve rapidly , I wouldn't be suprised if by draft time there are a few more in the mix .
Also likely see a few current rated 20-30 kids rocket up the ratings too .

We will get a very good player with our pick.

Saw that pass too, and thought that it was exactly what our forwards would love.

That says a lot more about Horne and Daicos than the rest of the group though.

Put them in Cerra’s year and they would also be way ahead of him or anyone else drafted in that year.

Hey guys, sorry to intrude...
What would be a reasonable asking price in your opinion for Mitchell? Not that it's going to happen anyway...

One of Chol or CCJ in exchange for Mitchell (alongside one of thos higher picks Richmond currently possesses) would be ideal.

Would be even more ideal if that selection could then be used to acquire Cerra.

However a lot would need to go right. You'd need to get any of those 3 players to want to come to us which isn't as easy as it used to be.

IF Cerra nominated us, let's consider a reality where we score 11 and Callum Coleman Jones in exchange for Mitchell. Then send that pick and one of those early picks in the 20's to Freo for Cerra.

That gives us pick 2 (based on current ladder), Cerra, Coleman-Jones and pick 21 (estimate).

I'd take that in a heartbeat. Two 21 year olds with massive star potential, the 2nd best free available 18 year old and another solid early pick in the second round.
