Ok then that’s your entitled opinion. I’d dare say the length of Cripps’ contract would make more than not supporters unhappy. I’m not moaning, I’m a realist. You make it sound like the groundskeeper thought it a good idea so the club went with it. You have zero idea of the complexities and permutations involved in player contracts. At least now you have something to moan about regardless of any fresh endeavours the club initiates in the new season.
Unfortunately on cue - injured againWe saw his value at times through the middle last season, but he has been injured for large chunks of this year and therefore not able to play the role we'd probably like him to.
Fair to say the same could be said for many at the club - out injury list is and has been through the roof all year.
I dare say we'll see a different Jack in a different role if and when fully fit again.
Imo calling US sports the masters of cap management is a stretch.Sorry buddy, you clearly don't follow US sports who are the masters of cap management. Ed is just a stocking filler and it is very important he goes last, we need to keep our fire power of available salary cap until we have surveyed the market and signed free agents and/or concluded trades.

Nup will be our first plus for Cerra. Could be first plus SPS with a third back, about the best we could do IMO. Not playing SPS with our outs suggests he is not getting a contract. Hard to demand even a second under that scenario.SPS not playing today. If he was traded to Freo, and Cerra to Carlton, how is the following: SPS to Freo for their 2nd, Cerra to CFC for our 1st...

DO NOT TRADE 1ST ROUNDER!
Get the best available in the draft. Try and get 3 to 4 selections in the first 25 to 30
3. Marc Murphy retired
19. Eddie Betts retire
32. Jack Newnes delist
35. Ed Curnow retire
39. Oscar McDonald (?)
40. Michael Gibbons delist
41. Levi Casboult retire
46. Matthew Cottrell delist
Honey and Durdin are the future, if Betts gets another contract I will be hugely disappointed. After watching Durdin and Honey tonight (not forgetting Owies) we simply cannot give another contract to Betts.... every game he gets is another wasted game of development into some kids with real potential and a whole lot of years ahead of them.
Retain Betts in an off field role of some kind... but surely surely the club has to draw the line here.
I hope we don’t get rid of O’Brien.DO NOT TRADE 1ST ROUNDER!

Trade Setterfield also.
Our kids have no value so no point trading them unless we don’t want them in the group. I’ll be really surprised if SPS is at the club next year and unfortunately he has absolutely stuff all value. If he isn’t tied to another trade then anything we get inside ~40 would be reasonable atm so I’m hoping he becomes steak knives or stays.
Watching yesterday I can certainly see why we would be super keen on Riccardi and Cerra. The club would be very brave or very stupid to back this midfield in again next season without trying to add a ready to go good player to it.
This is my worry.if they are anything like Dow, LOB or SPS they may not even help until 2025.I know we need some talls but as you say our midfield needs urgent help - it’s probably the 18th ranked midfield and we desperately need someone like a Cerra. Freo takes on West Coast without Fyfe and Brayshaw. Let’s hope Cerra shows his naysayers on this Board why we absolutely need to get him in.
Picking up an 18 year old midfielder isn’t going to help much in 2022 - picking up Hewett AND Cerra will absolutely help.

We would be using pick 6(?) in hope we could draft someone of Cerras caliber.
