Im going Johnson with 3, and Begg with our second pick. Can see it happening.

That is how I am thinking what will Happen.

Johnson is a Forward that can Play Straight away at AFL Level and Begg be that Big Marking Forward who can play Ruck IF Needed. Yes he has a Bad Shoulder Injury but I doubt he Play AFL Footy in next Season and a Half Anyway

Weideman is a bit vanilla for my liking, certainly doesn't appear to be the difference maker at AFL level that people would be hoping for. If we got him for peanuts then I'd be fine with it but that's not likely to happen.

Yep I agree mostly, would be happy to not pay too highly but there'd be suitors and Melb would be happy with a bidding war! Just trying to pre-emptively dig a bit deeper in case we overlook Callow

Im hope we give Callow a chance, but forget Weideman, I hope we are saving salary cap money to go all out for Ben King.

I hope not. I hope we select whoever we think is the best player available. If that player happens to be indigenous, then great.

The only problem with is that the midfield quality we have stinks. Nick Daicos will help with improving that but it's quite sad once you get past Tay Adams and Josh Daicos, whom in his own right hasn't established himself yet as a good on ball midfielder. At this stage our midfield is only based on assumptions that the young kids will turn out alright. Otherwise it is up there with our forward line .. Garbage.

Hardly, it's just inexperienced. We just need to be patient. I'm very optimistic about Macrae and McInnes in particular, and I think Josh Daicos, Tyler Brown and Trent Bianco can be more than serviceable rotations given opportunity to develop. Ditto Poulter on a wing.

But Johnson isn’t a key forward Callow is and Callow has been dominating the SANFL no reason he can’t play this season.

Also we are third last picking blokes for what they can give this year is stupid

The mention of the do better report in here is stupidity. It over simplifies the problem/ strategies, and immediately gives people a ridiculous narrative to be toxic if the club doesn't take their preferred pick.

Agree, that notion of Callow needing to be developed or not playing AFL footy for 12-18 months is a perplexing one. Been dominant in arguably the best state-level league and isn't a skinny 18 year old KPF, he already weighs in at 95kg. Yes his tank or lack of experience might hold him back, but physically wise I don't think AFL footy in 2021 is out of the question for Jackson Callow.

Agree, that notion of Callow needing to be developed or not playing AFL footy for 12-18 months is a perplexing one. Been dominant in arguably the best state-level league and isn't a skinny 18 year old KPF, he already weighs in at 95kg. Yes his tank or lack of experience might hold him back, but physically wise I don't think AFL footy in 2021 is out of the question for Jackson Callow.

Given our ball movement I would worry for him, especially as the team defense of AFL teams will likely give him access to a lot less isolated 1 on 1 contest. Still, I think Moore would be the last time we had a young key forward to get hopeful about!

I hope it doesn't and we bring someone in on talent and what is best on the field. I don't think or would assume anyone wants to be drafted on the basis of the colour of their skin or the culture they come from or to meet a quota. I'd love to have a Neon Leon or an Andrew Krakour in our line up, not because of their background but because they were damn fine talents that make people want to go to the footy and make us a better football Club.
