Don’t think we can justify taking Stengle at pick 3 after throwing Stevo away for off field issues
Just watch us though. We’ll be satisfied that we’ve hit on list and demographic deficiencies, despite the fact that the positional scarcity just isn’t there. Stengle is an ok talent who was drafted in the rookie draft and then traded for a fourth-round pick. I think we should certainly add him, but not as a priority.

I just don't think the Club is in a Stable Enough Place to look after a Player with Off-Field Issues at the Moment
I’d take the gamble with Stengle, he adds something to the mix we don't have right now.

Bringing Stengle in will free up Cal Brown to pursue a career in the VFL. (Sorry Rowdy)

They'll play Cal in the midfield.

We do have an X factor. When brown has it you never know what he’s going to do with it.

That's so sad when we think about it. Stevo would be exactly the x-factor we need in our forwardline right now.

I was fine with letting Treloar and Phillips go but Stevo was a travesty.

when he’s lining up for goal you never know it’s it gonna fly off and miss to the left, or fly off and miss to the right...

One thing you do know though is it's not going to make the distance from > 35m out.

IMO Callow won't be available at our second selection, whereas any combo of Stengle, Thorne, Lambert would still be available by the time our second pick rolls around.

For me I'd be taking Callow at 3 and taking the best small forward at the second selection, which might even be Stengle as I don't think any other club has been closely linked to him?

Yeah, I havent heard of any other club had real interest in stengle, so leave him to the 2nd pick. Where many clubs would love a key forward given how little they come around. How its a known deficit in our forward line.

Yea for once I'd just like Hine to make the obvious pick. Appease us fans. At least if he turns out crap, we've only wasted a midseason pick and we can go back to trusting a Hine's special again.

If only we had a fourth round or later pick in any of the last dozen National Drafts!
It would be such a Collingwood thing to do, to use an early pick on a type of player that’s always available late ND or RD, and overlook another potentially really good key forward that’s fallen in to our lap. Why haven’t we learned from overlooking Riccardi twice ffs....

It’s like when we were scouring the available talent for the rookie draft, and our recruiting team were like “nope, the priority with our first pick simply has to be re-rookieing Lachie Keeffe!”. Urgh....

This ^

I still think it’ll be Stengle- I try and not get sucked in by highlights but Callow certainly appears to have a lot of upside for a 19 yo, looked quicker as well, big opportunity for Pies to fill the KPF and still get Stengle with the next pick.
