Maybe you can't see him?
Not him, according to the founder of this franchise

Try warm milk and drinking chocolate,.... if that fails, try 1/2 a bottle of Scotch.

That is just not true....Melbourne, Bulldogs, Port & Geelong all very good teams, any of those teams would of beat us on gf day the way we turned up that day.
I dont agree with that. We got beaten by a dynasty team that were playing at home and who the AFL did everything in their power to assist on the day ...of the teams remaining, we have beaten two, lost to one by a goal and yes, been smacked by the other one...but that is with a team of kids and following a year we finished 18th!!!

Anyone else genuinely terrified of a Powa premiership? I know we cant control it...and they will only equal and not surpass our record (2 premierships, 1 GF loss), but even still I am losing sleep over the prospect....Port supporters are bad...smug Port supporters are worse...
A wonderful very senior firefighter who trained staff once told me
Is it life threatening?
Can I do anything about it right now ?

I think you may need to sit through the GF again and see how badly we played after quarter time. We were on the end of some bad umpiring that day but it didnt cost us the game...but if on that day, had we played like we had majority of that year, we would of won the premiership, i was not that impressed with richmonds 2017 grand final performance, it was more down to how we didn't show up after half time. Their 2019 and 2020 premierships were more impressive. We were no where near the level on grand final day and any of the 4 teams this year would of beat us.

No because that's how they want you to feel. If you tell them that it'll be good for SA (a lie) they'll feel a little cheated that you don't see annoyed at the prospect

Not really.

I'd probably stick to the SFA board for a while, as everywhere else would be infested with trolls (Richmond supporters have gotten on the Port bandwagon for some strange reason).

The upside is it might drive some more change at our club. We're not used to Port being a better club than us, so it might shock them into action.

Yeah, nah, I think our club has already got the message, we don't need a Powaa flag to keep pushing us down the road we're already on.

Powaaa in a (losing) PF is all we "need" from them. They can stop, stop, stop there.

I reckon about 30k in Bay13, so yeah that does apply.

Every now and then a thread I participated in there gets bumped, I get tagged. Then shake my head.

Tend to think that is how Robert Paterson feels about being in the Twilight series.

Our entire 2017 team were mentally exhausted before they even stepped on the field Grandfinal Day.

Who's fault that is I don't know. They were told to soak up the week and enjoy it and they did it so well they had no energy left on grandfinal day.

I was there that day, I kept thinking it's ok we'll flick the switch soon and play like I know we can. Wasn't until half way through the last quarter that I realised we didn't have a shot to fire at all.

I was in the city on the day of the parade and couldn’t believe how our players looked. They seemed overwhelmed.

I realised it 5 minutes in to the second quarter. You could sense it.

If you rewatch them doing the power stance before the game, it looks like it suddenly dawned on them that they hadn't won it yet.

The thing about the power stance is it immediately flagged to the opposition we had an issue with mental toughness. If you need a gimmick to project strength, it's a clear weakness.

I guess it shows you how bad the Giants and the Cats were.

FWIW I don't buy it. We were beaten by the inform team of the comp on a ground where they won 20 in a row. We took injured players into the game and copped more on the day

It's that simple.

Aren't all Port supporters smug pr!cks?

I actually think it might be a good thing for our club.
Unfortunately, the Rob Chapman era repeatedly proved one thing - that we overrate ourselves constantly. Thoroughly convinced of our own superiority, we never thought we needed to improve or that *shock* we didn't already have the best people working for us. Despite all evidence suggesting we were in fact mediocre, we clung to this belief stubbornly. It led us to being....mediocre.

Bottom line is, we need a kick up the backside every now and then to stop the back slapping parties we like so much. Port being competently run and having success does that. Port being bottom and no threat off field, let's us continue to believe our delusions of grandeur.

I still hope Port lose.

For me it was when Vlaustin held onto Eddie in the goalsquare.

Not blaming the umps but that was the moment the guys dropped off
It was a blatantly obvious free kick that should have been paid. Add that goal, Eddie up and about and we have significant momentum. Who knows what impact it has on Richmond's belief?
I still think Richmond would have won the game (the McGovern & Smith injuries, the Cotchin decision, our poor team selection and the constant cheating from the umpires ensured it).
